CD changer for 97 RL - wrong one?

Just bought a 97 RL with 87k miles on it (love this thing), didn't have CD changer.

Found one online, bought it, went to install, but am finding I may have wrong connection?

The RL has what looksl ike a DIN hanging from the middle of the top of the trunk 'roof' (thought it would be in one corner from other readings), and the pin layout is 'circular' (sorry for the non-technical lingo).

The changer I got is an Acura unit (p/n 39110-SZ3-A800-M1), dated April 1997, but the pin configuration on the cable looks more 'square' (round connector that actually fits the car connector, but the pin layout is different - this looks like 12 pins - 3 rows of 4, aligned squarely over each other.

Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Thanks!

I think there is another CD changer part number 39110-SZ3-A0... I think this goes onto non-navi vehicles. Yours, on the other hand, looks to be exclusive to navi models.

Did you get the base, premium, or navi type?
