can you switch the 2000 Acura rl radio with the 96-98 rl

The best way is to add an AUX input .
You can find one on ebay for around $79
Remove your radio, disconnect the 6 disk Cd changer, this AUX would replace your Cd changer instead.I installed it myself,If I can do any1 could.
Hope this helps

I guess that was a 2nd option, but I was also thinking that if the 96-98 rl already has the aux attach, and the radio looks exactly like the 2000 rl cant i just switch out radios disconnect the CD changer and plug in the aux where the CD changer would have been..

It will cost you more $ replacing the radio .Its lot easier to just add an AUX,it looks very professional and clean.
Mine works awesome.I have an Iphone5 with an Adapter.
All you have to do is to remove the radio, the instruction can be found here on this forum,
It will take about 20 minutes.
Just make sure you put a masking tape around the edges and the wood panels
I even used a towel around the shifter and the console.
