Anyone using group 34 battery vs 24?

35 is more cca but an inch shorter? I don't get that.

Here is my current battery.

I know Group 34s are the exact same size as the OE Japanese size batteries. As for 35s though. IDK.

Shoot, I'd like to change the thread title. I meant group 34 vs 24. I didn't know the 34 was the original size, the 24 fits great. Costco has a group 24 Interstate for $119. It's not the MTP line that's in my car now but it's not $200 either.

No issues yet but I don;t know how old this battery is and it's always got corrosion on the + post.

Both 24 and 34 fit great on 1Gs. In fact I think mine has used 24s its whole life with exception of the first battery which is the weird JIS size that somehow matches almost perfectly with group 34 batteries. Since our cars were made in Japan, they used Japanese batteries originally which come in their own unique sizes due to the Japanese having their own standards on many specifications in the industrial sector. Another example of this are the rotor screws. They are JIS #3 heads if I remember and NOT Phillips heads. That is why everyone strips them. Found a pic of the OG battery below courtesy of a guy named Fabvsix who was a forum member a long time ago and an original RL owner.

Okay. So I now know I can use a group 34 or 24. That's great to have options. Hope to get new one soon.
