'98 Exhaust
Hey guys, I have '98 RL with stock exhaust and I'm thinking about getting a new muffler and tips. I was just wondering if anybody had any good advice about what kind to get and if I should be expecting to get it professionally installed.
Couple things:
-Don't like stock tips, want something nicer looking (stainless steel)
-Want to keep the dual output on one side like stock
-Want something not too loud, possibly variable?
Any advice you guys have will help Thanks

Don't get any aftermarket muffler for the RL becuase we only have a single 12" resonator and there isn't any space available to put a longer one in due to the piping designed. You will make your car way too loud and lost plenty of lower torque. You need lower torque for daily driving to pick up speed. Don't ask me how I know all this lol. I'm planning to put back my old set up; the OEM muffler with an aftermarket resonator. Save your money, just buy the two 13" stainless steel with 3" tips and an aftermarket resonator, with this set up you still get the quite/comfortable sound and a very loud at WOT. If you want a little louder you can delete the resonator but i think it will be rasp. Hope that's helpfull.
Total: Two 3" tips are 100$, aftermarket resonator 40$, 50$ labor.

Any cheap resonator from the muffler shop will do. I'm still rocking my $40 resonator almost 2 years; the combine sound with the oem muffler is really good. I'll take a pic of my set up this Thursday becuase I have to remove the aftermarket muffler.
