2000 RL Engine Growl @ 1100 RPMs
With an Acura installed replacement engine w/ "75k" miles on it, I now have a constantly nagging growl at 1100 RPMs. With 216k actual miles on it, Radley Acura continues to tell me that this 'growl' is normal. I asked them is STUPID written clearly on my forehead as this noise didn't use to occur. Since no 'Check Engine' light comes on to direct them to the exact issue, no one can determine what's causing the growl at ONLY 1100 RPMs, nor how to make the damn growl stop. So it seems their answer when they have no answer is 'it's normal'. Has anyone else encountered such a growl problem @ 1100 RPMs? Thanks much...

Do you mind me asking how much did you pay of an engine replacement? I need one soon because my engine is leaking oil and don't want to pay 2000$ just to fix the oil leak. As for the growl, how loud was it? I can tell you it is not normal, but if the new engine drive smooth then I probably keep as it. Wait I'm a little confuse lol. How long did you have the engine replaced?

3.5RLv-tec, hold onto your hat. The engine was $2800, but I paid $3000 to add a 3 year warranty. Since the RDX I want runs $35k, a replacement engine was FAR less expensive. The growl is really a knowing, nagging sound that you can hear and feel. Once past 1100RPMs, my RL can run 100mph w/ no problems. While aggravating, I have a warranted engine w/ 75k miles on it, my gold RL stills looks good, and after all, it's just a car, right?
