i recently brought my car in for a 127,000 mile check up and they said:

i needed a very important 120,000 mile check up ($575)

also they told me that i needed my timing belt looked at, didni't mention as to whether it needed to be replaced and estimated that at ($760)

also a $180 fuel system clean

Grand Total : $1515

anyone know anything about this, similar situations or can help me out as to whether i need this or am getting ripped off with all of this.

i would ask what the 575 check up is for, you may be able to do most yourself.
now every 25k i would have the trans fluid changed,
100k the timing belt, unless those earlier years required it at 60k
the coolant you can do by yourself prob for like $15
you may want to replace the brake fluid, should be less than $20 with all supplies.

most of the stuff they ar going to do is prob just checking.
i don't know much about the fuel system cleaning but if you changed the fuel filter for less than $15 and its easy to replace, if you did it like every 25k also maybe sooner


the only thing i would really have them do is the timing belt,water pump if its due

btw my 2000 rl has 46500 and i plan on doing all the work myself, more money for me
