Hey, I'm new here. I was just wondering...... I have an 04 RL and have had it for about 8 years. It came with HId's already, but they don't seem to be as bright as they used to be. I was thinking about swapping them out for a higher intensity (6000k) bulb. Is it as simple as just changing the bulbs? Or do I need to swap out ballsts and stuff too? The HID system is new to me, and I don't want to mess up my baby. Any help/ insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

 

You can change bulbs, but stock is like 4300K, which would be the brightest. 6000K is more white but not as brighter and even higher looks purple. I would go upto 5000K max HID bulbs.

 

Ok, that sounds like a plan. But aftermarket bulbs should plug right in with no problems? As long as it's a D2R 35 watt right? I saw some 55 watt bulbs too. I'm thinking that bulb may cause a problem beccause it draws more than 35 watts.
