and what size would work do you think?

Interesting, I'd like to know as well. Stock rims don't stick out at all.

I think a 15mm spacer would be just right. Remember, these may not be perfect for those with aftermarket wheels, as the bore size is usually different that compared to stock.

I just got those....

.....but haven't had a chance to install them yet. Hopefully will get them installed in the next few days. I'll let you know how they work out.

I actually have aftermarket wheels on my RDX that have maybe 3/8" more track than the stockers, but it's still not nearly enough. I went with the 15mm spacers, so it's going to be close, but that's what I intended.

Installed the spacers today...

....they're very nice quality. Hubcentric rings fit perfectly. The nuts that secure the spacers are a bit tough to torque down. They come with a special socket similar to a wheel lock and they're a little difficult to get down tight without stripping them. I'd probably try to find short acorn nuts if I had it do over again, which I hope I don't!

I got the 15mm spacers all the way around, and I have aftermarket wheels that are 8.5" wide, so they have a bit more track than the stockers. The sidewall of the tire (255/45-20)sits only a couple mm's inside the outer fender, with the tread width even with the inside of the fender. It looks great. I'll try to get some pics up on my Cardomain site soon.

You'll obviously need to measure yourself and decide what width you want, but I'd probably go with 20mm with stocker wheels. I've used H&R spacers before, and these are just as nice. Last thing: don't order from OptionImports.com. They didn't even ship mine for over 2 weeks, after promising to do so twice earlier. I did get the spacers and an apology, so I won't totally bash them, but the service and communication left a lot to be desired. I'd definitely order them directly from Ichiba USA.

Thanks for the input and look forward to hearing more about them. I was thinking of the 20mm as well. I am interested in knowing if you experience any vibration or any other issues like that. Good heads up on bolting them down.

cant wait to see it

How safe are these?

I've been looking at getting some wheels but they're 19x7.5 + 50 so the spacers would work well...

Here they are. I'd definitely go with 20mm (maybe even 25mm) if I had stock rims. The 15mm's worked out perfectly for my application.

P.S. I have new pics up on my cardomain site: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3122215/7

Please check out the previous pages on my site as well.

I installled 20mm yesterday. They look much better, wheels do not look like they are "inside" the wheel well, rather more flush with the fenders. Looks much better - a bit more aggressive.

So why do you guys want to prematurely destroy your wheel hubs and bearings? Spacers on an SUV...seriously?

bump

I've got stockers and would like to put the 20mm ichiba spacers all around. TOLEDORDX or anybody who has put this on their car with stockers, do you think its too much? (go with 15?) , or not enough (go with 25)

Thanks!

For what it's worth, I bought wheels that move my track out 16 mm. It looks al ot better, but another 9 mm would likely be more aggressive/flush.

I ordered 20mm from optionimports on a thursday and got it monday. Installed it monday night and it looks great on stockers. I really hesitated with spacers since i want rims but well, if i got rims, i'd get 19's or 20's and i'm worried about the harsh ride (as if it could get worse) since my other car is already pretty unforgiving

20's are just right on stockers. its not entirely flush, maybe 25's would be flush, but depending on your tire (if it flares out) you could be more than flush (stock tires seem to flare out a bit).

Thanks for the pics. Do you suppose 25mm will fit without rubbing?

Hi I wanted to revisit this...has anyone tried the 25mm spacers? This is one thing that drives me nuts about the RDX in how the wheels are inset.

I would love recommendations on 25mm vs 20mm. Has anyone seen pics of 25mm on an RDX with stock rims?

I just put the 20mm spacers on my RDX with stock rims today. It really helps a lot! I am almost regretting not doing the 25mm spacers.

The rears looks really nice, but strangely, the fronts still seem like they are inset about 5mm. I think the 25mm would have resulted in a better look.

All in all, I'm very pleased with the addition.

A quick bit of math increases the RDX track width out an additional 2" with the 25mm spacers. Althought I think the stock look is akin to a "fat lady on skates", my personal experience tells me hub/bearing issues will occur and it's not worth it. The majority of these products are sold for "show only", as were the tinted headlight covers I put on my Speed6 (driving at night was not advised). Save your money for 20's.

25mm equates to 0.98 of an inch so technically it would widen the track by an inch not 2. I ran a 25mm spacer on my RSX Type S for over two years with no I'll affect to my knowledge.

T.
Your math is good, but you are forgetting that is 25mm each side. (x2) Not to mention the additional 2,000lbs. of weight the RDX has over the RSX.

A better alternative to using spacers would be to purchase larger wheels with a smaller offset. The RDX stock set-up is 18x7.5, 45mm offset. If you went with 20x9, 40mm like “BigHatch” is running (which looks hot), you could achieve a flush look while better balancing the pressures on that bearing and spindle. I.E; 26mm further out, and in addition, 14mm less clearance in (the inside of the wheel next to the struts). Food for thought.

Has anyone been running 20 or 25mm for a period of time? I really dislike the "fat lady on skates" look and want to get these spacers, but I do not want to blow out the hub or bearings to fix the look of things. Any feedback?
