Opinions on Bremmerkraft BR12

Can't find much on their site, can't find anything on A'zine.
Do these look beefy enough to handle RDX weight? Saw post from a Focus forum where someone w/ another wheel model hit a pothole at 35 and it basically severed the wheel.....

How are they made and what are they made of? For under 200 per wheel I fear they may not be the strongest things out there.

That thread on the ST forum said it's 1 pc gravity cast.
No idea on material; their own site doesn't even have the wheel on it and Tire Rack (the only place I can even find it) doesn't have helpful info. Shame b/c I think it's a pretty decent looking wheel...

So gravity cast generally results in weaker wheels as opposed to pressure casting or forging. I would be wary of putting gravity cast wheels with spokes that thin on a 4000 lb SUV. Especially if a Focus was able to shatter one.

I knew about strength advantages to Forged, but not about Cast. Thanks 4 the 411. So other than relying on the manufacturer's PR garb, how do you find out the casting method? What do you think about these other wheels:

KONIG® OVERSTEER Wheels - Opal Rims

Targa - M129 - Niche Wheels

If you noticed a pattern, I'm a big fan of the split, 5-spoke design.

Unfortunately I'm not sure unless it's on the actual manufacturer's page. That said, according to this awesome wheel tech article on Tire Rack, the spin process on the Konig wheel seems pretty legit. It pays to research though - many people buy wheels only for looks and don't take the time to check how safe they really are for their own intended use. Good on you for checking this stuff out.

I definitely agree with you. Nice looking is important, but not as important as safety. I'd rather spend more and have peace of mind than be cheap. Looks like TSW has a new forged wheel called the Bathurst, maybe I'll check those out.

I'm really contemplating getting the Konig Oversteers:

19 x 8.5 w/ a 30 offset, 245/45 tires

With stock suspension, will it be ok if I get alignments done using factory specs?
