new front struts and rear shocks for my 2007 RDX

My 2007 RDX is at 100K miles, and its been pretty wobbly lately when going around corners and also it makes hard thuds when going over bumps. Going to the local repair shop to change out the struts/shocks with new KYB setup. I got the KYBs for $400.00 total. Will see how that goes when it gets installed.

Good luck! I have a 2010 with 118k miles and am planning the exact same work within the next year. Will probably swap out both half shafts while in there since I do have a bit of shudder from 15-25 mph on acceleration (always there since I bought it at 50k).

I did KYB shocks in the rear and OEM Struts on the fronts around the same mileage with my 08 RDX. I also did the Progress RSB at the same time and replaced my endlinks for the fun of it. The Progress RSB didn't feel like a dramatic change like when I upgraded the same RSB on my fwd TSX. I think it was because the sh-awd already does and excellent job of keeping the RDX stable in the corners under power. The Progress RSB helps more in the curves when your foot isn't on the gas.

Finally I have my local shop replaced front struts and rear shocks , plus the front sway bar links, and rear sway bar links, plus rear shock bushings. The struts and shocks were KYB Excel-Gs.

Car suspension rides as good as new now (if not better). Overall cost for repair: parts+ labour + taxes = $900.00

The swaybar links had to be replaced as they were siezed and worn. Also the rear bushings were worn and loose making the noise when going over bumps.

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and new to the RDX family. I just bought a used 2008 RDX with 130k miles on it. I'm enjoying it but it does need some work. Mostly cosmetic except the front end sounds horrible over the slightest bumps. The dealer said he just replaced the sway bars/struts/shocks for front and back thinking that was the issue but its still doing it. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I would check the strut mounts - unless the dealer replaced with complete new assemblies (which they probably didn't), those will wear out and can make all kinds of rattling on small bumps and uneven surfaces. Mine were in pretty rough shape when I did my suspension at 150k

Thanks for the quick reply. I showed the message to my dealer and he said that it was good info and he would look into it.
