BC Coilover Install (Acura RDX 2012)

Hey guys, have any of you recently bought the BC Coilover kit?

I am trying to install it but I seem to be having some issues or what appears to be an issue to me. The spring perch seems to not be held by anything. I was looking at one of the first installs by KenBenz and it seems like he was able to use the original metal cup that held the OEM spring bushing to hold the spring perch, all he had to get was some longer bolts. With this setup I received the spring perch is too wide to hold the cup, so it's basically just sitting there between the chassis and the spring. My question is, is it safe that way or should there be something to hold it in place? I keep thinking the compressing force of the spring will keep it in place but I don't know. Any suggestions? Here are some pictures to give a better sense of what I'm talking about
