19" OEM Wheels and Goodyear Eagle RS-A2 Review

Went from stock 18" to the 19" OEM wheels and from Sumimoto
Touring LS V to Goodyear Eagle RS-A2 tires.

When I bought my RDX used it had the standard 18s and some Sumimoto tires on it. I didn't really like either but the tires were almost brand new so I went with it. Found the 19" Acura Chrome wheels new on ebay, I'm not personally much of a chrome person but I think they look much better than the 18s.

The Goodyear Eagle RS-A2 tires are pretty cheap several places on the web with mixed reviews. I think with tires its all about what you're comparing them too. Compared to the Sumimotos, I think they are much better. Pros: Relatively low noise, decent handling Cons: seems like somewhat soft sidewall, minimal warranty

(rdx wasn't perfectly clean, so apologies for that but I know people like pics)

Looks nice. Since you have had both now, what was the effect on ride quality in your opinion? Any harsher with the shorter sidewalls or not noticeable?

In my situation ride quality both comfort and performance was actually noticeably improved. I really didn't care for the sumimoto's that were on there. They were like an unresponsive, harsh set of bricks. I don't think the Goodyears are the best tire on the market but they were a significant improvement for me even with the change from 235/55-18 to 245/45-19.

To be more general and answer the question though, I don't think even a same tire change would be a very significant from the 55 to the 45, just my opinion.

Sumitomo

Not to nitpick, but having that much "see through" space combined with the larger size makes your brakes look super small.

If you're happy, that's all that matters.

Saw these on Ebay as well and thinking about them. How is the quality of the chrome? I also rather not have the Chrome but these seem like a good deal. Did you pay 1299 plus the 250 shipping for them? How has it held up so far? Thanks!

Wheels are great so far, they're OEM Enkei and seem to be solid quality. I am by no means a chrome expert but seems like they'll hold up fine.

I actually just bought the wheels via ebay, same seller as that package you're talking about and I'd recommend them (fast shipping, no issues). I wasn't sure what tires I was going to go with when I bought the wheels and also wanted to buy the tires local in case there were any issues.
