Re-glue your badge!!!!!
As someone mentioned before, thin, aluminum badge on the front top of the black, plastic, inter-cooler housing unit under the hood was very loose. Obviously they probably did not use quality adhesive. Noticed it while changing the oil at home.
Removed the stciky residue with WD-40 and the hot air from hairdryer and cleaned the remainder with alcohol pad. I have not attached it back yet but I am planning to use some silicon chaulk and clean the excess with denatured alcohol.
Everyone check yours and do something about it before it flies off.

It was I that had posted about the badge coming loose. I also cleaned off the dirt/residue the best I could and used some Super Glue (gel style) to replace. It has been several weeks, and it's holding tight. I could see the badge working its way loose and out of your engine compartment...

I had mine come off the first week I had the car. I took it back to Acura with a couple of other fit and finish issues and they just put on a new one for me. The old one is stuck to a cabinet in my garage

Made in USA-no wonder
When I was buying my RDX something told me not to-beacuse about 80% of the RDX is made in USA. Well when I saw the badge unglued and lying on my intercooler, my thought was confirmed. I love the RDX , but it is not made to last- I will trade it in a few months. Never again an Acura. I have owned Acuras since 1995- but all of them were made in Japan.

Theres nothing wrong with producing a product in the US except for the extra cost associated with it. I've driven and owned many american cars and they were put together very well so dont down on good old american workers becasue ACURA in the design process didnt use better adhesive.

Yup that's a good reason to trade it in.

If you want a car company that still has most of their models made in Japan, look at Infiniti and Lexus.
All of the Infiniti models except the QX56 are all made in the land of the rising sun. The same goes for Lexus except I think for the RX350.

[QUOTE=DNPhotography]sorry but IMO thats the most stupidest thing ive ever heard. your gonna trade your Acura in because 80% of it is made in the USA and because the badge fell off??? am i missing something here???
I second that opinion. No offense but I dont think thats a valid reason for trading in the car. Also to say that this car was not made to last cant be justified either. Honda doesn't have a poor track record in terms of reliability issues or any for that matter. So as long as you maintain the car properly, then it should last you a very long time.

Safety Car
Mine just came off. The back of it was thoroughly coated with a fine layer of rubbery contact cement. It adhered very well to the aluminum badge and very poorly to the plastic shroud.
I'm going to clean it with De-Solve-It and try 3M autobody trim tape.
Oh well, the auto mags always said General Motors is best at "badge engineering"
(And I thought they meant one mini van with 4 names.)

Former 07 RDX Tech owner
I just checked mine - it was bowing up in the middle and only attached on the ends. I pulled it off with about as much force (less actually) than it takes to liberate one of those gift cards you get in the mail from the trifold brochure they're attached to with that tacky goo stuff that looks like, uhh, mucus.

Burning Brakes
For Subarus, the models made in the US (Legacy platform) have a better reliability rep than the made in Japan ones (Impreza platform).
Weird thing is that the new CR-V is still made in Japan (VIN starts with J on my parents 2006).

No, no plans yet to tade in-but am concerned of declining Acura quality control issues.

If having the engine badge peel off is the only problem this car has, I would be very very happy.
Most new Japanese cars have half a dozen common problems, and US and European cars have twice as many. These bugs are often serious ones with the drivetrain or suspension.
