RDX not starting
Hey everyone,
I have had my tech RDX for about 3 weeks now and I enjoy the ride. However as of late, I have had two incidents in the last week where my car would not start. Each time, I tried 3 consecutive times and then waited another 2 or 3 mins and it would start after that. One was a unusually cold night but around here that means around 32 degrees fahrenheit. The other was a warmer night where the temp was around 60. The car is virtually new and has less than 1000 miles on it. Does anyone know what might cause this? I don't think that running the heat or the radio while starting the engine would be a problem on a new car. Should I take it to the dealer even though I can't duplicate it at will?

So are you saying it cranks but does not fire up?
One thing to try is turn the key to on, wait a few seconds for the fuel pump to run (you will hear a whirring from the back of the car) and then crank the engine. In oddball situations, this will help the engine start quicker.
That said, I haven't had any issues starting mine, even at -5F a couple weeks ago!

take a look at the service bullitin sticky above. see August. There was a problem with low battery. I saw others reporting poor stock batteries too. The dealer should replace it for you.

Did you get the problem resolved?

I have been having a similar problem. It starts, but on cool mornings (50 degrees f. or below) it seems like it doesn't feel like turning over right away. I thought it was just me. I am afraid that come winter time it's just not going to start up. I am taking mine in for its 1st service this weekend and asked them to take a look at it. I just know it will work fine for them and they will say there isn't a problem. Oh well, at least I know I am not the only one.
