Have any of you had a problem with the view from the 2008 RDX rear camera as I have? The picture it provides is so washed out it is really not usable, although at night it works great. My dealership has changed the camera to no avail and tell me I am the only RDX person that has had that problem. I believe in 2010 the camera system was changed, although I don't know how. I asked the dealership to query the area Acura rep, but received no suggestions or solutions. This is the first time I have had an Acura problem with seemingly no resolution. I would appreciate any information that might be provided.
Thanks...

I can't believe that Acura rep. / Dealer didn't at least say to update the software to the latest ver. Mine wasn't always the best, but after the latest update, it's great. One thing you can do also, is check to see if the lens has "filmed up", (THAT'S MOSTLY WHY IT WORKS AT NIGHT, NOT DAY) you can use a small amount of WD-40 on a rag & wipe it off. Then clean with a MILD soap to clean off the WD-40. If you don't want to use WD-40, you can use baby oil. That stuff works wonders! This helped mine a lot!!! (Even before I updated the software)

Thanks so much for making time to reply...I did not even know, althought now that you have mentioned software update it certainly makes sense, that the rear view picture and camera would function via upgradable software...So tomorrow I will pursue your suggestion.
Thanks Again

Thanks for that clarification, I have yet to upgrade the DVD, so I will give that a go. I am hoping to find some way to correct this.
Best Wishes and Thands again...

Thanks again Lrpba300...You were spot on correct. After several years of an essentially inoperative rear camera...my current Nav DVD is working great...and I have a fully functional rear view picture...in color instead of the dark unusable picture that I had previously and found of little use. Thanks to Acurazine for providing a means to link Acura owners and the knowledge they bring in solving problems that stumped even the Acura dealer system and their reps...
Best Wishes

My camera has improved a lot since the upgrade last week. That was a very happy surprise, but it sucks that the upgrade cost $200.

I have an 07 rdx and too noticed a dull color on the rear view camera. I waited until this year to purchase the new navteq (white disk) for 2010. After install, the rear view camera is now crisp clear and color is bright. The color on the nav. screen is much brighter and crisp too. Seems the updated nav. is much more usable and easier to use and find places. (at least for me.) Although a bit pricy, I'm glad to have bought it.
