Paint problems

I think this has come up before but I see 2 different colors on my Red RDX. The front and rear bumpers are a different shade than the rest of the car. I call it my multicoloured car. Does anyone else notice this and what does Acura say.

Am I the only one

Am I the only one with poor matching paint??. I really don't live near an Acura dealer or I would look at a few to see if any other ones had a problem.

Look at the RDX in the forum pics

Take a look at the red RDX in the members forums pics. Look at the front side fender. The 1/2 closer to the front seems a darker shade. That is what mine looks like. really noticalble in certain light.

This issue has been covered extensively on the forum. Just do a quick search for "bumper mismatch" or along those lines. Most people who complain have lighter colour RDXs....particularly white. It's just something that can't be helped since the bumper and body are made out of completely different materials.

Sctlenz, you are definitely not alone. I have the same problem with my 07 Carbon Gray Pearl. I also noticed other CGP have the same problem. (at dealership and online) I went to the dealer and they said light reflects different on different material. Some people suggested that you can asked the dealer to repaint the bumper, but some said if you do so it will most likely come out worse. I haven't make up my mind what to do. I guess it's up to you if you want to take a chance.

AC11, I'm surprised you find it a problem on CGP. I always thought CGP (like mine), silver, and black coloured RDXs didn't show the difference as much. I really can't tell the mismatch even in bright sunlight. I

Boon, so you didn't notice any color mismatch on your CGP? For my car (and many other CGP) if you look at it from the side and from an angle on a sunny day, the mismatch is very obvious. It's less obvious on evening and overcast day. I will try to post some pictures and you will know what I am talking about.
