Exclamation P0299 & awd 77

'08 RDX

Recently been intermittently experiencing Engine P0299 and AWD 77 when hard accelerating. (See attached images)

When it happened the first time, a cursory under the hood inspection revealed a crack in the large intake hose so it was replaced. While it sure made the engine quieter, it didn't take away the problem.

I've not found reference to anyone else having the same P0299 and 77 combination before.

Any ideas welcome. Thanks in advance.

The engine code is an overboost code right?

underboost. Pulled Down the rear cat today and although a bit noisy, the turbo spooled all the way up for the first time I a long time. Getting it changed tomorrow for only $300. Aftermarket but worth the risk for less than half the cost.

Nice, do you know which catalytic converter it was?

I have a link to some catalytic converters for you to compare at the auto zone by my house.

They welded in a universal one for me. It was a bit more because they had to make sure the numbers match for Cali CARB emissions but compared to the day before when I didnt know if I needed a $400 cat, a $1200 cat, or a $5000 turbo, I was happy to hand over $300.

That’s good that you got it done for that price. California emissions are crazy strict.
