Oil leaks at 38,500 miles?
Hey all, I've had my RDX for 4 years now, and have around 38,500 miles on it. Still love it as much as I did when I drove it off the lot ! Just had a service done on the vehicle, and the mechanic found the left axle seal leaking (replaced under warranty) and also noted passenger side of engine oil leak, but couldn't find where the oil is coming from, so we'll have to recheck.
Just curious, would this be somewhat common for a 4 year old RDX or should I be worried?
Any thoughts?

If he has done this and can't find any leakage, then it is possible that the "leak" is just spillage from sloppy oil filling, as the fill is on the passenger side of the engine.
The other thing you might want to check for, is leakage from the rear shock dampers.

I usually wash my engine several times a year at the hand wash place. I usually do an inspection from above/below in direct sunlight (not in the garage) looking for any leaks of any kind.
Maybe a quick wash and watch it between oil changes to see if it is an actual leak or a oil spill from the last change.

Thanks guys for the great suggestions, I will definitely follow-up on them! I never even thought it could be spillage from previous sloppy oil filling! I hope that's all it was, but will get Acura service to look at it again. Incidentally, I searched the RDX forum for previous postings on engine oil leaks and found an old thread in 2008 where the guy had to have part of his engine block replaced Now that's a scary issue!

Certain models have a recall for a valve cover leak caused from paint overspray. The recall requires removal of the valve cover and a light sanding to remove the paint overspray in the grove for the seal.
Check your valve cover gasket as this would be a hard-to-detect leak from underneath.
