Lump on backrest of front passenger seat
I have 2008 RDX and have noticed a bit of a lump on the backrest of the front passenger seat. If you run your fingers along the backrest you can feel that lump behind the perforated leather.I checked a new one at the dealer today and they all seem to have this lump( incl. an MDX) but not as pronounced when brand new.
It looks like it is some kind of wire, probably for the air bag sensor .It becomes more prevalent as the seat gets used(leather stretching and not as tight).
Has anyone experienced this?

There is no power passenger seat and no lumbar adjustment as I previously suspected.

There is nothing to be confused about. It does not matter what a magazine says.
Like I said before, I own a 2008 and there is no power passenger seat or lumbar support in it.There is however a power drivers seat with power lumbar support in it.

Apparently according to the service guy there is one on the seat for the weight and one in the backrest for the height of the child.
MY whole question was if someone else noticed the lump when they run their palm/fingers down the back rest. I mentioned that I checked a brand new one in the showroom and it also had it but not as pronounced(maybe because the seats had not been used).

Hi Casa - I have a 2008 and just ran out to have a look. I don't actually see any bumps in the passenger seat, but if you face the seat, running my fingers along the right edge where the perforated leather meets the regular leather, I do feel something about mid-way down the seat. Again, not noticeable visually. It's not a pronounced bump at all in my vehicle, but there is something there. I'm not sure if that helps you at all.

This is why there isn't a heat element on the passenger seatback as there is for the driver - the airbag sensor is there, so therefore passengers can only warm their butts. Another reason to be behind the wheel, sez I.
