Lumbar support just clicks

Hey all,

The Lumbar support on my 07 RDX Drivers side stopped working. When I hit the switch either way, I just hear clicking. Thanks to rockstar143 on the TL forums, I was able to pull the back of the seat off and take a look. No plastic, metal, springs or wires are broken. With the seat back off, when I press the Lumbar button, I can see the wire that connects the lumbar to the motor move slightly each way before the clicking begins.

My question is this: Anyone know what I should do next? I would assume the motor is fine since it is activated by the button and makes a clicking noise. I'm wondering if I'm missing something that could be wrong with the lumbar mechanism, or perhaps the wire has slipped out of the motor. In order to get to the motor, I will have to pull the leather off the seat, which I wanted to avoid if anybody has any other suggestions.

Thanks for any help!

If you don't want to spend the money at the stealership but you can't get it to work right at home...you could try a seat/upholstery shop because they deal with issues like that all day and are much more affordable then the dealer.

I never thought of that, but that is good advice. At this point, I am really hoping to get some pointers on things to try on my own, I'm a do-it-yourselfer whenever possible.

I am due to take it to the dealership for an A1 service anyway, I may see what they can do for me, as I am just a few miles out of my CPO warranty period. I am NOT going to let them charge me several hundred dollars to fix this, though.

Thanks for the reply, keep them coming!

Anyone else? I wanted to tackle this problem this weekend, if possible.
