Summary:
CERTAIN HONDA ACCESSORY TRAILER HITCHES, P/N 08L92-STK-200, MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JUNE 26 AND JULY 8, 2006, AND SOLD AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR USE ON 2007 MODEL YEAR ACURA RDX VEHICLES. THE HITCHES MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY WELDED DURING INSTALLATION.
Consequence:
THE HITCH MAY SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE IN USE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy:
HONDA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE HITCH. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON DECEMBER 1, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT ACURA CLIENT SERVICES AT 800-382-2238.

My salesperson did tell me that this was going to happen a week ago.

We are heading back to the dealer tonight (picking up an 07 MDX for my wife), I will bring it up to them so I can get an appointment scheduled to have mine fixed.

This is the OEM hitch right? Is it a brand name hitch I wonder?

A little OT, but curious what kind of deal did you get on the MDX? I am purchasing one for my company, but waiting till the prices come down from MSRP. You'd think my dealer would price more aggressively since they have 50+ MDXs on the lot...

Same deal as my RDX. We did not buy the MDX from one off the lot as we have been on a waiting list with a $1000 deposit put down several months ago to get the color combo we wanted, Aspen Pearl White, parchment interior.

MSRP and options at 10% off. This is the 4th Acura from this same dealer since 99. Never a markup over MSRP on day one releases and the best sales and service that I have ever experienced - Hopkins Acura, Redwood City, CA.

We are going to further discuss pricing on the MDX and possibly place an order tonight. One dealership offered 41,883 with technology, and 43,773 for sport(which includes tech). They told me the dealer MSRP is 44,400 for tech, didn't ask on sport. So they are flexible. HOWEVER, invoice and destination is just around 40K for tech equipped. The dealer was also including all season and trunk mats for that price. We will be going to deal with another in person which has over 40 07s o their lot, also who we have purchased from before. I am hoping we can get a bit closer to invoice with them.

I offered my dealer $500 over invoice for a sport with entertainment, and they flat out said no. No counter offer or anything, which was fine by me since it is either $500 over invoice or nothing right now on my end, and I believe on their end for that model, it is MSRP or nothing. That'll change soon enough...
