Huge Blind Spot in RDX

Has anybody noticed a blind spot on the driver side mirror? i have them out all the way and I have to look over my shoulder when making a left lane change becuase almost everytime there is a car there I had no idea about. In my Si im able to have each side mirror view possitioned to start where my rearview mirror leaves off. In the RDX it seems the rearview mirror relays the same information that the side mirrors do.

I never really noticed. I always look over my shoulder as a double-check when I am switching lanes; especially during rush hour. I find the RDX has very good 360 degree visibility compared to my TSX when you double-check over your shoulder.

Could it be just how you have the side mirror adjusted that is creating a larger the blind spot? I trust my own eyes more than the side mirrors when changing lanes. I even changed my sunglasses to the sports biking/baseball wrap around style from the Blues Brother looking vintage style because the larger side arms were blocking my peripheral view when I turned my head.

im actually trying out a new seat possition thats sky high and back a little so I dont have to completely turn my head but I still do becuase id hate to destroy someones car on the freeway. I wish the mirrors had more range of motion as found on my Si.

Sounds like you have the side view mirrors correctly adjusted.

Might be time for a ghetto stick-on blind spot mirror.

I'm shopping for a second car. I've noticed the same problem in several vehicles. I'll have to see how well I can adjust the mirrors in the RDX when I test drive. I almost never have to look over my shoulder in my 4Runner.

I was having this exact conversation the other day. I've always been one to put my mirrors out to avoid having a blind spot... I don't understand why anyone would set the mirrors up to see half of the side of the car... if you need to see it, lean in... otherwise I feel the mirrors should give the driver a wide view of everything around...

And yes, the Driver's side mirror has a HUGE blind spot and you HAVE to look over your shoulder.

Get these little blind spot mirrors-
Amazon Amazon

Does wonders - autozone or your local auto shop should have these for 2 -3 days for a pair.

Had these on all my cars.
Just stick it on the outter part of the mirror like this -
Some people like to put it closer to the car but it seems to work very well for me on the outter portion.

I agree the mirror needs the stick-on wide-angle assist. My neck doesn't turn nearly as easily as it used to but having that assist really gives me a lot more confidence in my lane changes. Took some getting used to and remembering to focus twice when you're looking in the mirror but it's saved my inattentive ass several times! Mine's a nice rectangle or shape and it looks fine.

Every vehicle has a blind spot in this area. Push the mirror further out. You should not be able to see the side of your car. If you can see the rear door handle, you need to go further out.

The RDX (2010) is the first car I've ever had that I can't push the driver side mirror out far enough to eliminate the blind spot. I was finally reduced to adding a stick on blind spot mirror. The only problem is that it quickly loses is usefulness in the rain and snow.
