Heated Seats
Does anyone know if the heated seat on the passenger side heats the bottom and the back of the seat? The one on the drivers side does, but the passenger side doesn't.
My salesman assured me that the back of the seats don't heat in any Acura .....

Your dealer is correct. The passenger seat back is not heated. The manual explains that this is because of the airbag sensors. My wife's Honda is the same way. It seems to be only with Honda products. Most of the other cars I know of heat both the seat and back of both front seats.

Thank you. My salesman tried to tell me that the back of the drivers side didn't heat either..... I sit on it so I should know... That was why I was a bit skeptical.
Thanks again you guys are a great source of information.

It's the same in my husband's TL - the back of the driver seat does heat, but the back of the passenger seat does not. Since I never drive his car, I didn't know this until I got my RDX.

Page 150 of the Owner's Manual talks about the seat bottom being heated, but not the seat back.
Seat Heaters
Both front seats have seat heaters.
The passenger seat is only heated in
the seat bottom because of the side
airbag cutoff system. The ignition
switch must be in the ON (II)
position to use seat heaters. Push the
top of the switch, HI, to rapidly heat
up the seat. After the seat reaches a
comfortable temperature, select LO
by pushing the bottom of the switch.
This will keep the seat warm.
Then you have to go to page 31 to find out about the Side Airbag Cutoff System:
Side Airbag Cutoff System
Your vehicle has a side airbag cutoff
system designed primarily to protect
a child riding in the front passenger’s
seat.
The side airbag may also shut off if a
short adult leans sideways, or a
larger adult slouches and leans
sideways into the airbag’s
deployment path.
Objects placed on the front
passenger seat can also cause the
side airbag to be shut off.
Although Acura does not encourage
children to ride in front, if the
sensors in the seat detect a child has
leaned into the side airbag’s
deployment path, the airbag will shut
off.
