Harsh ride over some bumps

I have a bit of an annoying issue. The RDX rides quite well and soaks up most bumps, but the sharp bumps, even the ones that are not that big, really bang/clunk and I wonder if that is normal.

Some of the railway crossings are a bit ragged around here and going over them feels horrible.

if u have an 2007, totally normal. if u have an 08..its a tad softer, but still...thats the way this truck is. some consider it harsh, others, sports.....if u wana soften the ride a bit, lower ur tire pressure a tad, and/or check it make sure its a cold 32

It's an 08. The ride is fine over almost all bumps, but some bumps that just aren't that substantial and the thing goes into riding on brick mode.

Just seems quite odd to me. Most cars will bottom the shocks on large bumps, but this is happening on small ones. The ride is completely acceptable, this only happens once in a while.

It is not bottoming out... the suspension is tuned for sport feel. It is more of the short-travel design, and the shocks are tuned so that there is minimal motion of the springs, to try to keep things flat.

I don't think you guys are understanding my point. I've driven cars with stiffer suspension tuning and they ride much harsher, but they can soak u pthe type of bumps I'm talking about (i.e. railroad crossings).

The RDX does not ride harsh on a day to day event, but a couple sharp/consecutive bumps and it's like the shocks dissappear.

Buy a non-sport BMW 330i, relatively stiff suspension, but will soak up those bumps you are referring too.

So long as it's normal and I'm not the only one experiencing it. It isn't that common, but it's just weird how a firm ride can soak up some bumps like nothing and completely loses composure on others.

Well, have Acura check your struts. My RDX is 5k miles old and I definitely have a blown strut. I've heard of another person with the same issue. It's rather annoying and I need to hurry up and call my local dealership
