exhaust rattle

hi, i have an 07' RDX and recently noticed a rattling that sounded like it was coming from the exhaust. I believe i have located the source of the rattle but unsure what it is. Its right behind what i believe to be the Cat. Converter and looks like a small muffler. Would it be a resonator? If it is, would it be smart or even possible to just remove it and have straight pipe going back? any info would be much appreciated. thanks

Drew

This may help. Deleting the resonator has been discussed in various searchable threads as well.

did you notice this only when you hit bumps, as in transitions in the road etc?

I thought this was my problem but I just looked under the car and the heat shield is a good inch away from the ac drainage pipe... I guess my search continues.
