crack wind shield
What a bummer I got hit by a small pebble rock on the way to work today.
Its not big about 1/4" wide but it is cracked anyone have any experience with this type of repair?
Does this require a long time to repair? and would the best place to get this done be at Acura? also should I notify the insurance about it.
Would this be something wth a non deductable in Florida.
thx in advance for reply's.

I have $0 deductible on these types of claims and they DO NOT inrease my premium - you should read your policy and/or call your agent to see how your respective policy reads.
If the chip is only 1/4th of an inch, they will more than likely repair your existing windshield. Most glass companies come to you wherever you are and do the repair in under 30 minutes.
Now, if your crack is truly 1/4th of an inch WIDE and stretches across your windshield, they will replace the entire windshield. New windshield for my TL if I didn't have insurance cover it would have been $700+ installed.

If it is a "star" type crack and you can cover it with a quarter, a reputable windshield repair shop can repair it with an epoxy injection and it will be all but invisible.
As Tripp11 said, most policies will cover stone chips at no cost, because they'd rather pay a $50 chip repair than a $1500 windshield replacement -- and they will likely take your deductable on the windshield replacement.
Don't delay. Once road jolts increase the crack beyond quarter size the chances of repair go way down. (And we all know about RDXs and road jolts.)
