battery drain

I have a 08 RDX with 163,619 miles. The battery keeps draining overnight. The handsfree link is disconnected, I have a new battery and the car still won't start unless the battery is fully charged. I've even tried jumping it off and nothing.

If the battery is draining overnight this is as large enough current draw to produce some detectable heat, which can you help identify the source. You're going to need to monitor current draw through the battery post and the disconnected cable and pull fuses until you find the what's drawing the current. You could and should also use an infrared thermometer to measure for heat and one area you might want to do this is with the alternator (after sitting to cool off), an alternator diode can leak current sometimes and you could detect this with the infrared and without having to disconnect the alternator. If you do use an infrared thermometer you will need to use it before the battery is drained since it will be the current draw producing the heat. Don't hesitate to just feel for heat in different areas too. I'm assuming the new battery is good and it's actually getting discharged and not a starting system problem.
