Auto door locking: can't get 1 option to work!!

I did a search for "auto lock" and found one thread from 2007 talking about what options were available, but I decided to start this "I need help" thread for instructions.

I would like my 2007 RDX Base to lock the doors when the car reaches 9mph. I've confirmed in the manual, the quick start guide, and from what others have said here that this is an available configuration on this model. I have successfully programmed the doors to auto lock when I shift out of park, and also to do nothing at all.

The problem I'm having is that I followed the instructions in the manual AND the quick start guide and I still cannot get the doors to only lock once the car reaches 9mph. I noticed that the instructions to do so are slightly different between the manual and the quick start guide (the little wire bound flip book), so I just tried both.

Does anyone who has successfully done this remember the steps they followed? Here are the 2 procedures I followed:

Procedure 1:
1. Start with the car off, shifter in P, parking brake off, and all doors closed.
2. Put the key in and turn to position II
3. Put the park brake on
4. Step on the brake and hold
5. Put the car in R
6. Hold down the driver's door lock switch for 1 click (right away) and a 2nd click (5 seconds later)
7. Release lock switch
the following within 5 seconds of releasing the lock switch
8. With foot still on the brake this whole time, put the car back in P
9. Turn the key to position 0
10. Waited about 5 seconds and started the car.

Procedure 2:
1. Start with the car off, shifter in P, parking brake off, driver's door open.
2. Turn the key to position II
3. Shut the driver's door
4. Put the parking brake on
5. Put the car in R
6. Hold down the driver's door lock switch for 1 click (right away) and a 2nd click (5 seconds later)
7. Release lock switch
the following within 5 seconds of releasing the lock switch
8. With foot still on the brake this whole time, put the car back in P
9. Turn the key to position I
10. Waited about 5 seconds and started the car.

Neither of these procedures work...which is why I'm here =[. I would rather figure this out without having to take it to the dealership and asking someone to do it. I also read in the manual that it defaults to the setting I am trying to achieve, so does anyone know if resetting the ECU (pulling the fuse or disconnecting the negative battery terminal) will reset this configuration as well?

Wow, that sounds way too complicated. On the 2008, it is done through the MID.

As chipmunk says: It's rather simple thru the MID. I have a 2008 RDX base.

Disconnect the battery for more than 3 minutes. Resets to default. But then you must deal with the radio & nav....

Thanks, Mr. Marco. I don't have nav or XM connected at the moment and reprogramming the presets isn't a big deal. I think I also have my radio code in the leather pouch my manual came in.

Hmm...so I disconnected my negative battery terminal (yes...I JUST started fidgeting with this again), but is there the possibility that I didn't remove it for long enough? The reason I ask is because after reconnecting it, my A/C settings were the same as before, and the radio presets were preserved (although I did have to enter my radio code). Do I also need to pull the #23 BACK UP fuse in the primary under-hood fuse box?
