Hi, I have a 2008 Acura RDX with Tech whose warranty is just expired, and I get the quote from curry acura care, they provide 5yr /80 acura care warranty for $1325. Since I drive a little everyday, I dont need the long mileage warranty.

So is it necessary for me to buy the extended warranty? Is RDX stable?
BTW, I just find the seat heating on the driver's side doesnt work now, that's why I am considering to buy the warranty.

Some people argue for ext warranties and some against. I am the former. 1300 is a small price to pay for piece of mind that if something crazy expensive breaks they'll replace it for you. Plus Acura Care comes with roadside assistance, if you break down on a trip or something, call them and they will tow your vehicle to the nearest Honda/Acura dealership where they will fix your vehicle so you can get back on your way. Honda/Acura care services can be done at any Honda or Acura dealership anywhere in the US. So if something messes up when you are visiting family, just roll into the nearest dealership and your car will get fixed.

To me that is worth a few thousand dollars. however if your car has been very well taken care of it is not likely something major will happen. But no amount of preventative maintenance can guarantee something won't go wrong...

It's a suckers bet. Chances are you will never use it. That being said my wife insisted we buy one and have BTB coverage on both cars. We have never used either extended warranty but the RDX does have a blown speaker that someday I will find the time to fix under the 5yr/70k we bought for some ridiculous price. So $1,500-186=$1314 we overspent so far on just the RDX.
