'10 RDX ripped console lid
I brought my RDX to Honda to get the trunk latch fixed, and when I got it back it had a rip in the leather on the middle console. Honda doesn't want to take much responsibility for it and told me they'd order me the part at cost and do the work for free. They called today and told me it'd be $350! I feel like they're trying to rip me off. Has anyone had theirs replaced through a dealer or fixed it themselves? I'm looking at 2007-2009 console lid part from Dorman (924-884). It's not listed as a 2010 but it looks the same. Think it'll work?

I took mine to a local vehicle upholstery shop, and they charged me about $120 to replace the cover with actual leather, with color and stitching to match OEM. The lid itself comes off easy and I was just able to leave it with them for a couple days.

I bought the leather off eBay and did it myself. It was in 2017 so I don't have access to the listing, but similar to this one...

Removal of the lid was easy, so was Installation.
However! To remove the leather requires pulling out about a hundred million (or just a hundred) staples.
And I went to Lowe's to get the strongest 3M double sided tape I could find.
Pulling twisting, testing for a good fit was a chore... But managed to get it right. Added the tape and set in stone.
The texture is a little rougher than stock, but seems like it will hold up better. And has.
If you have patience and want to save a few bucks, do it yourself. I'd probably have someone else do it for me, next time. But I can now say I did it, but that's not worth much!
