2007 RDX from Poland

Here is mine 2007 RDX.
I live in Poland, where this model is not popular.
I am planning a few stylistic modifications.
I will write about all of it in this thread.

All pictures were taken by myself.

These are the original rims from the European Honda CRV 2009 powder coated black. Size 18x7 inches.
This is a winter set. In summer I drive on the original 18x7 inch RDX wheels.

Midnight Mystery 06-14-2019 03:22 AM

Those wheels look sick.

Hi there!
Give me a PM with Your phone number.

tomiek 08-24-2019 02:21 PM

Some new stuff:

1) "plasti dipped" of chrome look grill. Finally the Acura badge I restored to chrome.
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...458ff6d60c.jpg

2) I tried to install Acura Music Link set for my IPod Video 5.5 gen.
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...c718dec915.jpg
, but it doesn't work correctly (just like I would like it to work). Unfortunately this set is not suitable for use from the steering wheel control.

3) That's why I decided to buy a Dice set that worked better than Acura Music Link.
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...c82bcac043.jpg

4) Then came the time to replace the plastic gear knob with leather.
https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...bb3c5413d3.jpg

5) Then I changed the armrest to leather. Upholstered work. The skin color matches the color of the seats.
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...f4a85358a4.jpg

6) I decided to regenerate damaged and worn upholstery of the front seats. At first I used a special resin-based paste, but the effect was poor.
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...02f886e6c9.jpg

There were stains and unevenness after applying the paste according to the instructions.
So I decided to give the chairs for professional regeneration. They have been painted again. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures.

7) During the technical review it turned out that one leaking rear shock should be replaced. The choice fell on KYB Excel-G.
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...466b2b3b91.jpg

After putting on, it turned out that KYB are softer than OEM shock absorbers. After loading the car for the holidays, the rear sat down slightly.
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...cd5d75f1a8.jpg

And now I don't know what to do. Whether to buy Honda OEM rear shock absorbers and be sure that the car will stand evenly after loading, or can buy KYB Excel-G on the front to even out hardness. What do you think?

8) New air filter from K&N
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...108b7cb468.jpg

That's all for now...
Stay tuned!

The wheels were an excellent choice in my opinion especially with that black finish done to them...I myself powder coated my stock rdx wheels to get the blacked out look.

I also liked the blacked out grill I have done the same, I'm not a fan of chrome at all I have black racing long lug nuts as well as well as blacked out emblems front/rear. I want to do the handles soon...

Did the moonroof diffuser make a big difference in noise level when its open vs stock with no diffuser?

Keep up the great work the interior/exterior detail photos look great!

Regarding rims from honda crv:
One thing only bothers me. Namely, the width is too small. In my opinion they should be 8 inches instead of 7. It looks poor on rdx.

Regarding emblems:
I thought about the black ones on the tailgate, but I will stay with the chrome. In Poland, rdx is a very rare model, often drivers ask what brand it is. Hardly anyone has heard of acura here.

Regarding moonroof visor:
It is much quieter after installation. The air no longer falls inside like before. A good deal in my opinion.

Thanks for comments. Stay tuned!

Last actualisation:
The air conditioning compressor clutch has ended. Unfortunately, the AC stopped working on holidays during a long journey kmore than 2000 Miles). After returning home, I replaced the clutch and coil.
Works good.

Yeah, I like wide wheels too especially on our trucks it looks great!

Yeah, I had to replace my compressor it died on my @ 140,000 miles.

Fortunately, the compressor did not get damaged mechanically (the drive belt worked well) - I would have trouble returning home from vacation.

Question:
I'm thinking of buying window visors. Which ones do you recommend? They are all aftermarket? Which company produces the most suited?
Please send the link on ebay or amazon.
Thank you in advance.

After the exchange I did a KYB vs OEM comparison.
There is practically no difference in height between KYB and OEM. Soon I will check how it sits under high load.

Next step - I thinking about Megan Racing Street Series Coilovers Lower Kit, but it's not so fast ... :)

Osram Xenarc Cool Blue 5500K inside :)
The effect after replacement can be found in the last photo - slightly brighter than before replacement.

I need help answering the question about xenon D2S bulbs mounted on the first assembly.

Acura OEM trailer hitch :)
Acura Part No.: 08L92-STK-200 Trailer Hitch Package
and
Acura Part No.: 08L91-STK-200 Harness, Trailer Hitch

https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...4266fb43bb.jpg

The electric harness assembly took 2 hours together with disassembly and assembly of the plastic covers in the trunk.
The hitch assembly also took 2 hours. Easy and fast. I did it myself without the help of another person.

feralcomprehension 05-06-2020 02:12 PM

What will you tow/what does it weigh?

In the US the tow limit seems very low, ~750kg.

I installed the hitch to transport bikes on the platform (eg. Thule). I don't want to transport bicycles on the roof anymore.
I don't plan on pulling the trailer, etc...

I am thinking of one of these two models:

tomiek 05-23-2020 03:38 PM

Today I installed an additional power source in the trunk.
USB socket, which is to supply power to the rear car camcorder and other USB devices (for example camping fridge).
Power supply from the cigarette lighter socket in the center console (from the armrest socket).
Cable routed under the carpet and to the c-pillar.
I also installed a rear car camcorder on the rear window.

Installation was simple.
The power cable for the socket in the trunk was soldered to the cigarette lighter socket cables in the armrest (from the gear lever side) and was routed under the carpet to the trunk.
I ran the USB cable supplying the camcorder along the tailgate harness to the trunk. Everything is nicely hidden.
You don't need special tools.

Update, June 2020

For a long time, this damage of the coating of the chrome handle did make me mad.

I was able to order a new door handle directly from Japan.
