Turbo Blanket Anyone?
Does anyone have a turbo blanket installed? I'm looking at purchasing one but don't know which size and how to install...

I would be interested in a turbo blanket but I have never even heard of someone mention that on this forum to be completely honest. You’ll definitely be the first person to attempt something like that right now. I never even heard of someone wrapping any part of the exhaust with the heat wrap either. I’m interested so keep me posted.

Ask the wrench, if anyone knows, he would.
But just look at it and see. I wonder if the vane actuator and coolant lines might be in the way.
Maybe insulate the heat shield and wrap the down pipe.

Bump, for the Wrench to chime in...
I think 🤔 the lines would be okay since the side are usually open.
I don’t even have a heat shield it got taken off with my catted downpipe for the cattless one.

This one was bought off Amazon. I tried others but they didn't fit. Better than nothing I guess.
I don't recommend leaving the stock one on with an aftermarket DP unless you have the 3rd bolt fastened. Just having 2 bolts will cause bad vibrations and may crack the turbo housing like mine did.

Looking good, you did the turbo blanket and the down pipe wrap it looks like...how is it running temperature wise?
How much did that set up cost you money and time wise?

The blanket was cheap. I had to get some wire to mount it.
I also had to protect the firewall and A/C lines since the A/C was not blowing cold as it should and the firewall material was coming apart.
Blanket
Downpipe wrap
Heat barriers
This heat sleeve may work for the A/C lines
