True cold air for your CAI

I added a duct to the front grill to draw in true cold air for my K&N CAI.

http://s733.photobucket.com/albums/w...otary_Rocket5/

The pictures show where I attached the NACA duct to the grill. I did a little cutting here and there, nothing major, just wanted a "cleaner" install. There is plenty of room for the flexible brake cooler hose to be fished through.

This is a cheap yet effective DIY mod.

Hope you like it.

Nice work. Now add a plastic box around the filter with the hose connected into it. True cold air intake. You will be happy this summer.

Good information - I am going to try this but with my weapon R tube.
They had included one but I never got a chance to use it - I will try to do it this weekend when i am doing my TMIC and snap some pictures.

That's nice work dude! If you have an open ended filter like this one...

...you could run your hose all the way to the filter.

Nothing special, just your regular run of the mill NACA duct.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/QCR-60-000/

Any race specially shop/website should carry it.

Same for the brake cooler hose.

You can look them up on Amazon as well.

Cool mod, did the same on my Magnum RT back then, I plan on keeping the stock intake on the RDX (when I finally get one), and might run a hose from the front the stock intake inlet, I might mod the stock intake inlet once I have the car and can see in person what I can do.

Rotary Rocket, what did you use to tie the NACA duct and bumper together? was it just cutting holes for zip-ties?

Also, how did you hold the brake cooler hose in place? also with zip ties? If so, what did you attach the zip ties to?

I have to wonder about how "effective" this mod is. Considering this is a turbo and intercooled engine, intake air is passing through an incredibly hot turbo. Wouldnt any change in intake air temp at the air filter be negated once it passes through the turbo? I've seen this done on NA cars where it actually does work, but on a turbo it's kind of a waste.

A much more effective way of cooling intake temps imo, would be using a water sprayer setup on the IC.

B. insignis is a dark, robust spider, the female growing up to 18mm, with a 30mm legspan. As with most spiders, the males are smaller (10mm), and have longer legs in relation to their body size. In both sexes the carapace and legs are dark brown to black, and the abdomen is charcoal grey with a dorsal pattern of light markings (sometimes indistinct) and a dense covering of fine, velvety hair. B. longinquus is slightly smaller (14mm) with a greyish carapace and red-brown legs.

If you read the start of that slowly it kinda sounds like a coffee commercial.
