This is a buddy's RDX, he has the reflash. He just wants to get minor bolt-ons. It's his daily and doesn't want to go to crazy. This should be fun though, cruising around with a somewhat stock RDX.

You all scare me with this front axle thing on my 2011 RDX. I think I have one year left on the Powertrain CPO warranty. Is there a TSB out there on this anywhere? Without it basically breaking in two, how do I know what to look or feel for?

I have not seen a TSB.

https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-rdx-...s-fail-937530/

For us the problem started with a subtle thump sound and feel through the steering wheel.

As it worsened you could feel it in the floor board and hear it too. It would stop if you let off the gas.

It did it mostly on cold mornings as it began. Someone here took one apart to show what the damage was.

I got the head back and it looks pretty good, now I'm waiting on my cams to get here so I can make the big install.

Can't wait to get my car on the road so I can line up with my boss, I'm glad to have made him an Acura fan!

What's up Ken! How is the RDX and yourself doing? Have you had a chance to do the latest dyno and what do you have planned for it currently?

Hey, doing pretty good and the RDX is running strong! I keep trying to go hit the dyno, but things keep coming up. I'm going to try to hit the dyno this Wednesday to see what the numbers are before I change the head. I got something coming in the mail on Thursday for test fitting, crossing my fingers and hopefully it fits. I will keep everybody updated.

Wow that is good power already. The stock transmission can handle that much power without slipping?

Also, you make swapping the head on the car sound super easy. Wish you were local - I'm always ready to learn. lol

Yeah! I guess the stock trans is handling power pretty good, because I'm putting down 435hp+ to the crank! He said there was no slippage, it probably slips when the AWD is hooked up ("is my guess anyway"). The power would have kept climbing, but there was a 6500rpm redline. We will take it to 7800-8k after the K20 head install. My TSX cams should be here soon. When they do come in, the head is getting slapped on there!

How far are you from OKC?

Thanks, for all of the images, videos, dyno results, and track slips you produce. Your build is very exciting to follow. I enjoy your building on our platform. Good job!

I'm 1333.1 miles from OKC. I'm in California. I can't wait to see what you can do with this new head. I'm surprised this transmission can take such power.

Looks like a common fail point in k series motor is the timing chain tensioner, which one are you running with that much power? I contacted skunk2 to see if thier aftermarket one would fit on our block but got no response.

I'm surprised too! I've seen auto RSX base turbo make crap numbers, because of transmission issue. I guess the SH-AWD tranny are a lot stronger apparently.

I'm using a TSX tensioner, but it probably has less then 20k on it. I swap out the old one when I did my cams back in 2014.

10k mark up!!

I can probably fit some cakes back there!

Ok, car looks pretty good. However, I'm not feeling the $10,000 to $15,000 markup. This could make a nice delivery car for me, but I'll wait a few years to the hype goes down.

Wow $10-15K markup is too rich for me. I like buying under MSRP. I actually haven't even seen it at my local dealership. Looks nice though!

Thanks! Yeah, it was good for baseline numbers. I thought it would be somewhere around there. What issues were you having?

Not sure... His dyno was having problems. The pulls it made were 690,700,460,440,430,390,275,265,246,190,59,49hp and 1million-480tq. Tq was reading crazy numbers..... The 3 400 pulls were in a row and the 3 250ish pull were all in a row. Lower ones were first. He couldn't get his tech support on the phone. Supposed to fix it and redyno soon. He wasnt sure what gear to make the pull in why I ask.

Yeah that is super weird. Andre the guy doing pulls in my video clearly states that the first pull was in "2nd gear" and the second pull was in "3rd gear". Also if you listen closely after the first pull he says that he didn't realize that it was 'kilometers per hour", so that's why he just did it in second gear because it kind of "freaked him out". Whenever we get to start tuning it with the new head, all pulls will probably be in 4th gear.

hi, kenB
I was thinking about putting 06 tsx cam, but put the bc stage2 turbo. Now I have vtec point very high, 7000rpm vs 06 tsx 6000rpm better for 7600rpm revlimit. I plan to go for 8000rpm but I risk because I'm stock down.
