CP-E intake

Just bought an Xcel intake today from CP-E's website. Just wanted to let you guys know they have a sale going on, not sure for how long though. It was 20% off which equated to $56 savings. The code is WINTER if the pop up doesnt come up for you. Can't wait to put this in and see what the difference/gains will be.

do a search on google or check e-bay. You can still see them being advertised as being available, but as with the Eibach springs we found how they quit making them yet everyone advertised they had them.

From what I've read so far, the hondata reflash is the best performance mod to have, a drop in knn filter won't hurt either.
I don't know if a full knn cai intake would help, since homdata did the tuning on a stock rdx, plus a tube/filter "cai" might make it worse if it sucks in hot air.

I have a reflash. I first had it with a KN drop in, then went with the KN Typhoon CAI. I love it, has a nice sound and more pickup. Its safe to get both for sure.

I just saw it on the CP-E website, and it looks like it would work better than KNN in regards to sucking in cold air, the filter of the CP-E is right where the hole is as opposed to the KNN, which is right up there where all the heat accumulates, thoughts?

Another advantage to the CP-E intake is the fact that it gives easy access to the trans fill plug/hole.

This may be a revision or vers.2.0 I dunno. But looking at the website its difficult to tell if this is the same intake as the fabled CPE pipe but...

CPE, IIRC, there was a stink raised about the diameter of the intake charge tube, but the tube was not the same inside diameter of the stock piping for the placement of the MAF sensor and the actual position of the sensor on the pipe. They may have changed this so this may be a moot point anyhow.

The relationship of ECU and MAF sensor. The MAF sensor was calibrated for 3 inch pipe. Short and simple.
If the pipe was smaller, and fluid dynamics of air considered. This would put the sensor in the wrong spot in the air flow, and closer to the outside of the pipe, where the air travels faster. The ecu cannot, will not, and or would not recalibrate because the ecu doesn't know the pipe is not 3 inch ID. That could not be changed to date as there is no custom software or hardware manipulation availible. Anyway. Now the ECU sees more air. Venturi effect woud make the air move faster thus changing the operating parameters, A:F had to change.

The stink was combinding hondata and cpe and how the A:F leaned out for different individuals. CPE was around when I showed up, but disappeared, if you will, shortly after my arrival. YMMV,but I think it's a great product, no flawed delivery either-- if all you wanted was an intake. But I cannot "leave well enough alone" so it's not the right fit for me.

I contacted CPE earlier this afternoon. I asked them if they had any cold air intakes left for the Acura RDX. They informed me that they are currently out of stock and are currently doing a production run for the RDX, the units they have are being powder coated and will be available in a couple of weeks. fyi

I asked to be put on a list for the new models as soon as they become available.

i got one from cp-e about a month ago, it was a spare they had laying around and took about 1.5 months to get re-powercoated becuase it wasnt pretty. the guy i kept in contact with there, said they did not plan on making these anymore, there was not enough demand for them and their production is getting pushed to the products that were selling and in demand. just an FYI, i highly doubt this has changed.
