awesome just making sure im doing it right. Anyways I got the intake installed. is not as loud as i thought it would be. which is good. I have to say the sound this intake makes is quite unqiue. Install was no problem got it done in like around 1 hour.

So does the intake change/effect the air fuel ratio etc. Sometimes a intake will lean out a bit or vise versa.

I have e-mailed them when i purchased the intake and this is what Josh Adams's answer was.

My question to him:

Just wondering if i just install the intake without any tuning will it lean the fuel mixture out too much leading to engine damage?

His Answer:

NOPE. THAT IS WHY WE CNC MACHINE THE MASS AIR HOUSING OUT OF BILLET AND THEN WELD IT ON. Sorry for the all capsJ. We mechanically tune it by machining it. enjoy.

Very Respectfully,

Josh Adams

search it on the performance section. some guy made a thread talking about the install. I personally installed the intake myself and it wasnt hard. the intake cone is going to be located right beside the battery.

Hondata has tested with it. Supposedly there's a safe margin with an intake or cat back, or both. I think they had said somewhere that the only time for concern would be intake/exhaust and straight-piped/de-catted, but only like 2-3 people (individuals) have custom made downpipes for themselves...

Me personally, waiting on delivery for the K&N typhoon right now, but thats why they make different parts. preferences....Most people that have bought the CP-E seem to absolutely love it though.

Yeah i was thinking about the a/f ratio. This intake claimed 20 whp right? so i was thinking of pairing it with the reflash that adds another 26 hp. Sounds very pleasant to me =D

i'm sure the k&n is just as good as the cp-e, they've been out for god knows how long. I wish there was more youtube videos of how an rdx would sound with intake+reflash. No exhaust though. Need the quietness at same time for my preferences.

I'm the buyer of that Intake (Thanx 1TSXer) and "Oh my geekers" does it sound crazy... I put it on at my buddy's house where we installed it.. I barely got into the gas and WHHHOOOOSH... a neighbor lady was walking her 2 dogs in the middle of the street... and man, she ran so fast to one side, I was rolling!!

Anyway, there's not much of the throaty engine noise like most NA cold air intakes give, mostly turbo noise... it's actually louder at partial throttle than full boost... It may take a bit getting used to, but a fun toy for sure... I'm hoping to post videos of the before and after soon.

Someone should really look at my listing for a barely used CP-E intake for $110 picked up in the Bay Area...

Talking

Hey guys, I finally got the time to take these videos of before/after of the intake... THere's so much road noise that it drowns out the intake noise a bit, but you can tell the difference. Anyway, hopefully this will help those who are curious to know the difference in sound btwn stock and CP-E...

By the way mine's for sale: $200 shipped - the wife doesn't like it!! AGG!

Nice vid Blacura! Felt like I was riding shotgun there... Do you find it's much "throatier" at the higher rpms (>4500)? My K&N typhoon sounds like it's "screaming" between 2-3K and "howling" when >4500. Not complaining, just tryingto compare. Thanks for posting!

It's funny, I noticed a lot less throttle response AFTER I took the intake off - more of a difference than when I put it on initially for some reason. The hp increase could all be phychological, but I know for a fact it had a lot more throttle response with the intake on. It did sound pretty throaty at higher RPM's, I was simply amazed at how much more you could hear the turbo.

Ditto on simply being able to hear the turbo w/the intake installed (I have the K&N). The BPV is very active in the low range, which takes some getting used to IMO, but I love the deeper sound at the higher RPMs!

Less throttle response now with the intake out for you, huh...? I see you have the reflash, but the response still seems a bit lacking to you?

I deleted a bunch of posts buying and selling. All buying and selling must be posted in the Black Market.

If I see any more, people will get some vacation time.

This applies to BLACURA SUVND9L, ucsmfu, and any others I might have missed.
