Call for Datalogs for Intake Research
Hi there!
Comparing my datalogs on different mod sets, I was able to see some pretty significant differences in how smoothly the MAF sensor reads airflow going into the engine. I've come to suspect that cone filter setups, such as K&N Typhoon and CP-E intakes, might be counterproductive!
I'm working with TheWrench on developing a factory-based intake with 3.25" inner diameter MAF housing that would support turbo upgrades or swaps. We've seen some significant advantages over the ram intakes we've installed. If we get it right we'd be able to offer a completely integrated solution - upgraded factory turbo with rock solid wastegate actuators, intake to support it, suggested injectors, downpipe, gaskets, etc.
More information would be a big help. I /do not/ need to see your calibration. I'd love to see your datalogs. Please post a datalog and along with it, let us know what intake you've got! All I am going to be looking at is how smooth or sawtoothed the reading from the AFM and AFM.v graphs look.

I’ve really changed my thoughts on the cone type air-filters. I used to make that my first routine mod on every new/different car I obtained until my wife’s Mazda CX-9 and this RDX. I do believe the OEM system is as close to a cold air system we are goinna get.....especially for me in Arizona! I’m also agnostic on drop-in aftermarket filters in the OEM setup. Again, K&N, now the green things.....I’ll probably wait for some of you who actually know the science for this car like I know the science of the human body (and the soul too!)

Are there any other options for this part or one like it now that PRL is going out of business/combining with another company? I see the other thread about delayed and canceled orders.
I would also like to remove a stock resonator but dont want to suck in lots of hot air.
