RDX ambient footwell lighting?
hi, i heard the 2010 rdx comes with standard ambient footwell lighting. but i dont notice any foot lighting when i am in the car. is it an option that i hav to turn? if yes, tell me how please!! :yum:

Hi I think d ambient lighting is on d passenger side only... I didn't pay attention on d driver side yet. Mine auto turns on when my lights turn on...

Its on both sides. Kinda have to put your shoes way forward in the footwell to see the effect. Pretty useless in my opinion.

My 2007 RDX doesn't have this but my 2008 TL did. I loved it! Didn't know it was added to the RDX for 2010!

I have a 2009, it’s weird that you don’t have one...maybe the light is just out? You have to have your headlight on to turn it on. It’s not that bright it has to be pretty dark out to see it. |

All I have are the two ambiant blue lights behind the sunroof switch, I've never seen any in the foot wells. |
No footwell lights, I thought you were talking about lights in the arm rest... |
I only have those two on top.

My 2008 TL had sonetging like this albeit not quite as bright.

Maybe, they added it in 2009 then, not sure. Those lights are bright. |
I have ambient footwell lighting in my 2012. I swapped out the blue bulbs for red ones, I think I found the part numbers from a TSX thread. However, I would still like to replace the ambient lighting that shines down onto the center console/shifter area.

That’s awesome that they added that for the 12’ I have the 09’ without it. I think those are factory led so you wouldn’t be able to change them... |
MMC must have added it. I like most of the MMC upgrades, myself.
You can swap them. Just need a soldering iron.... |

I think people are confusing ambient lighting with the light that kicks on when you open your door. I didn't think we had any ambient lighting aside from the little ceiling LEDs, but we do have door lights (I also swapped mine with LEDs).

I have blue ambient lighting in my 2010. It’s constantly on when I use the the parking light and up. It’s not very noticeable to say the least, I had to wave my hand under there to verify when I first got the car

Yeah we have door lights that can be swapped with a 194/168 led as well as the trunk light and front/rear roof lights. Then the stock blue led ambient lights in the ceiling center control for the sunroof.
