Jacking Points

Does anyone know the proper jacking points, when using a floor jack?

I have jack stands, with hockey pucks as pads, which I plan to place where the factory jack fits, but I'm not sure.

it should be in the owners manual.

They are there, two along each side. If you look under a side you can see two jack points protruding a little from the underbody, one at the front and one at the rear. I'll take a pic when I get a chance.

Those points are where I plan to place the jack stands.

Looking under the car again this morning, there appears to be jacking point on the bottom of the rear cross member.

Is it okay to use this?

Other than the broad flat area in the middle of the front cross member, there doesn't appear to be a specified point for the front.

Honda has provided excellent fixtures for DIY maintenance.

The side rail jack points are depicted on page 384, item 7 of the Owner's Manual. It is the 4" hard point that extends down from the body flange shown here:

This is the front jack point, it is reinforced at the center of the front cross member. The plastic chin skirt is cut out around it:

This is the rear jack point, it is welded to the center of the rear sub frame:

Thanks.

I saw the rear jack point (your third photo), and I suspected it was the spot, but I wasn't sure.

I recognized the side rail jack points and was planning to use them for the jack stands in combo with the hockey pucks.

I'll go out tomorrow (dark already here) to look for the spot on the front cross member.

I finally had a chance to go out and look at my RDX. The front jack point seems rather fragile, and not nearly as sturdy as the rear jack point.

Does anyone else have experience using the front jack point shown in the photo, or using the flat portion of the cross member, to the rear of the differential housing?

Well, I'm not "anyone else", but I routinely use the jack points depicted. They are entirely sufficient and make raising the RDX a quick and easy task.

I then rest it on the side rail jack points on stands with hockey pucks. This is very sturdy.

I'm not sure if you are referring to a structural cross-member or a piece of suspension sub-frame, but the car should be lifted ONLY at the manufacturer's design jack points. They are reinforced for this purpose.

Lifting at other points, particularly non-reinforced suspension sub-frame areas may result in buckling.
