Hood to Service Position

From the RDX Service Manual pg 5-3. Put the hood in the wide-open service position using the prop-rod lower support hole. Makes access much easier:

Hood in Service Position

I have used this. Will point out that you need to be careful. I had changed the oil and filter and was letting the engine run to warm up the oil so I could check level and look for leaks. From outside the car I reached in to turn the ignition key off and accidently hit the wiper switch. The driver side wiper blade interfers with the bottom of the hood when it is in the service position. Fortunately, there was no significant damage, just paint scrape, but the wiper did lock up for an instant.

So beware and be careful.
