Hi, I understand that there is a service bulletin for replacement of base RDX front pilar mounted tweeters, due to the speaker grill vibrating. My fron D/S started buzzing/vibrating when I hit a rough surface and when I'm listening to AM radio with certain frequency voices etc.

Has anyone tried removing the grill and fixing this? If it's easy enough to reposition the grill or put something in to dampen the vibration, I'd rather do that than go through the hassle of bringing it to the dealer and argue to get replacements. Please advise!

I dont know about removing just the grill but the tweeter is part of a larger assembly that pops off from the door. I know because mine fell off and had to be replaced by the dealer. There are 3 clips that push into holes on the door and it holds it in place. I havent seen the TSB but maybe it is the same issue I had

Thanks, I bet it is the same issue that you had but mine hasn't fallen off just yet. I guess I'll have a little project this weekend, attempting to remove the assembly and trace down that buzz. My last car was a 2000 TL and it had lots of squeaks and rattles. I wish Acura would iron the creaky annoyances out of these cars.

Does anyone know if you need a special tool to pop off those clips, or can it be done with careful hands and a thin screwdriver?

I have noticed the same buzzing/vibration in my right front door speaker.Guess its time to take into the dealer

Has this been reported as a know defect? Do you know if it affects the 09 RDX Tech?
Has anyone taken this issue into the dealer? WHat was they answer?
I guess I'll use my first checkup for them to look at that as well.
