Tech package subwoofer specs?
I just picked up an '08 tech package and want to drop in a new sub while I'm tackling a tiny rattle that's driving me nuts.
i know the majority, if not all, of the other speakers in the car are 2 Ohm.
I've found the following 8" sub:
https://www.infinityspeakers.com/Infinity+Reference+Flex+Woofer+8s.html?dwvar_Infin ity%20Reference%20Flex%20Woofer%208s_color=Black#s tart=1
its available in single 2 ohm or dual 2 ohm voice coil.
Is the stock system a single coil? Is it 2 ohm?

Single coil 2 ohm......Not sure why the Infinity site says this won't fit though. Can't find any mounting depth dimensions for this either.
Try the Pioneer low profile series https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/P...nt/TS-SW2002D2

The Pioneer sub is a dual 2 Ohm sub. How would I go about wiring that to the RDX, as the RDX (I assume) only has the two wires needed for the OE single coil sub?
I'm more inclined to try the Infinity, as I've replaced the door speakers with a set of Infinity Primus.

Just connect the poles in parallel.

@wspy - that Pioneer 2ohm DVC subwoofer is not compatible as a "drop-in" replacement for the stock amp in the ELS package. The stock amp is a 2ohm load. That specific Pioneer subwoofer can only support a 1ohm load (parallel wiring) or 4ohm load (serial wiring). It cannot be wired for 2ohm with both coils wired up.
For a drop-in replacement using the stock amp, you either need to get a 1ohm DVC (wired in serial to = 2ohm) or a 4ohm DVC (wired in parallel to = 2ohm). This youtube video provides a good explanation of the parallel vs serial wiring options for 1ohm, 2ohm and 4ohm DVC subwoofers:

Yea I noticed that, but its not entirely clear in the manual either. The format of their directions are somewhat confusing. The info is broken into lanes with the corresponding info in column cells. The first column in the first lane indicates some type of 2ohm operation (but the wiring image is not clear), but then tells you its 4ohm in the corresponding column cell to the right.
I just spent the extra money on a 4ohm DVC Rockford Fosgate. They've always been known for the best in subs, and I dont have time to dork around with companies that cant write up clear and concise manuals.

Ok, so looking at the manual again, it makes sense now, and definitely does NOT support a 2ohm configuration as a "drop-in"
See image below: the only supported config for our RDX ELS amp is a single speaker config.
As you can see in the image from the manual, a single speaker config only supports 1ohm (parallel) or 4ohm (serial) as indicated in that youtube video. A 2ohm config is only supported if you're using (2) of the Pioneer subwoofers in the configs shown in the first row of the manual image.
So yea, the Pioneer is NOT a compatible speaker for a drop-in unless you are building a custom cabinet and will be using either two of them or you're replacing the ELS amp with something else.

This is the Rockford Fosgate DVC 4ohm I picked up:
The other option is to find a SVC (single-voice coil) that just operates at 2ohm. But was having a hard time finding any that were of good quality.
