Select XM mode w/ voice command

I have an '09 Tech and the first time I use voice command to select XM2 after turning on the vehicle, I get an error with two beeps and the XM2 mode is not selected.

If I use voice command to select XM1, no problem. Subsequently, XM2 will work. If the radio was last on XM2, it will still be on XM2 when the car is turned on. I can select any other mode directly with voice command, but each time, XM2 seems to require that I go into XM1 first (not the case with the physical button).

Not a big deal, but I am curious if others have noticed this.

Why would you do a command for XM2 or XM1 for that matter? All you need to do is say "XM Channel xxx" and it takes you right there.

Using XM1 or XM2 selects the respective set of XM presets (each of which holds six presets) that are then available from the steering wheel controls.

I hear ya. But I guess what I'm saying is if you're using voice command to get to a station why not just say "XM Channel XXX" instead of "XM2 Preset 2"?
