Our RDX's nav-audio display gets totally washed-out in broad daylight. I've gone into Setup and 'played with' the brightness, contrast and black-level, but I just can't find the right combination. I'd really appreciate any suggestions.

I had this happen to me as well. And I was in a new MDX which supposedly has the same exact screen and it looked nice.. So I can't remember exactly but I know I turned the brightness up full or almost full, and the black level down to about 2 bars, and that should help make things sharper. It still isn't great if the sun hits it right on.. esp if the window is open.. forget it..

Same experience here; darn thing is "lame" compared to my 03 MDX. I've tried fiddling w/ the adjustments to no avail. Can't help but speculate it's a malfunctioning unit I have. I've a call in to my Acura dealer and waiting for a response.

i think its on a bad angle and its too "sank" in... i have tinted windows and the sunroof visor closed... its still washed out... my tsx was 5000000 better with no tints... rdx is too high tech

Yeah, I've tried UnderPressure's suggestion and my display is still unusable in bright daylight (even without the Sun hitting it). Acura should call it a 'Night Nav'.

I have exactly the same problem with my nav screen. I will try the adjustments mentioned. The other thing I find is that the rear-view camera is very dim (even with the lens perfectly clean). I rented a Toyota Prius recently and noticed that it's rear-view camera had much more brightness (and in an economy car!).

Note that you can change the brightness of the rearview cam by turning the selection dial when it is showing.
Also, I noted today that when I was driving in the rain during the day today that since you have your lights on you get the night colors/brightness on the Nav screen. But since there is still plenty of light the night setup for the Nav is really hard to see... I hit the day/night/off button and switched it back to the daylight settings, but for a second I almost thought my Nav had shut itself off...

I only have a problem with a dim screen in really cold weather, 0"F (Michigan). With a 2007 RDX. Dealer says never heard of this before. Once car warms up after say 20 mins. it's fine. I think it is a design problem with the type of screen being used. I thought with an Acura they would have done a better job.
