Can you not turn on the radio from the steering wheel

I can't seem to find this info anywhere. It would have been a big mistake not including this option. On our Rav4 we hold down the mode button and it turns on the radio from there I can control it all without having to look at the console to turn on the darn system.

I get that but to make it hands free you should be able to turn it on from the wheel.

I usually leave the stereo system on whenever I drive. I wish it had a mute button like the +14 MDX has on the steering wheel.

That's not at all what I'm saying. simply that it's a more convenient option to have on the wheel than being able to push a button to see what the engine temp is or which wheels have what power.

Unfortunately this is not possible. Our 2009 Hyundai santa fe (and past 2007) are awesome at this, I can turn on and off the radio by holding down the mode button AND I also have a mute button as well on the wheel. It's overkill to have both but very functional and awesome.

However, if I recall correctly, you can turn the radio on using voice commands (I can't remember if only tech models had voice commands). I still think the Acura voice command system even from 2007 was really good. I remember being able to set temperatur/fan speed using voice commands and specific radio channels on my 07 RDX. It was awesome.
