Angel eyes

Has anyone done angel eyes on their RDX?

justnspace 02-05-2014 07:43 AM

^i'll break it down real simple.

you can either learn to open up your headlights and install whatever custom features you want in them

or

you can send your headlights to a person/business to open them up for you to install whatever features you want in them.

Pick your poison.

just say NOOOOOOOOOOOO angel eyes over played and long gone.. fad now is led strips like the new lexus and audi cars.. soon that will go away too.. just leave your lights the way they are

That would be interesting to see on an rdx though.

just get both, angel eyes and leds

RedRyder 12-01-2015 11:31 AM

Angel eyes belong on Bimmers. I liked the whole LED DRL thing for a while but nearly every car has them now so they're looking tired.

^OEM jewel lights would be awesome!

^I used to not like the look of those but they are growing on me. I agree though! This guy retrofitted some inside an Accord.

Good god this would be amazing!! Would LOVE some jewel eye leds in my rdx, would look SO MEAN, but the mdx ones that all light up, not the stupid rdx ones.

Personally thinking about getting a led light cable fibre optic thing and outlining my whole headlight with it.

Kinda like this guy:

But I then realize my luck sucks and I will most likely screw it up.

I personally prefer how the MMC RDX (2nd gen) uses a separate DRL light strip instead of using the actual LED headlights for DRL. I would think it would help not to wear out the main headlights so much. Probably only a concern for people like me who never sell cars. I buy them and keep them until they fall apart.

I know this thread is about a year old now, but did you ever complete this project skyknight88?

No, I did not. The installer did not recommend those leds cause if it failed, he would have to reopen the headlight and replace. I went the EZ route, and got a new car. LOL
If you don't mind losing your high beams, I swapped out the halogen bulbs and placed LED bulbs in them. The LED DRL looks like angel eyes, but the fall back is you don't have any high beams.

wusty23jd 01-24-2018 03:28 PM

I don't know if that's necessarily the easy route lol, but good to know.

I've already cleared two sets of Acura TL headlights and added angel eyes. I'm considering doing the same to my wife's 2007 RDX in the spring. Some people think the angel eye saga is played out, but in all reality it's about personal preference, so I'm okay with being considered lame.

I know the 04-08 TLs use 70mm halo rings, but I'm hoping someone can clarify the size that would fit the Acura RDX the main beam and DRL projector housings.

Those lights look pretty cool but I can see it being a headache in the future.
