that's $3.99 a month.. no deals.
Not sure I will continue it though.. I find it often is just plain wrong in NYC... shows Red where there is no traffic on one road, and the opposite on another next to it at same time.
You can't trust it. I'll stay with it for a short time and see if it gets any better.

$77

I let my XM expire after the initial trial period. They did call soon thereafter to get me to continue at full price. Of course, I said it was too expensive. The person I talked to did not offer me the $77 deal.

Two months after my trial period ended, I received the $77 offer in the mail, which I took them up on. I find it interesting that some of the XM folks would immediately offer this deal and some won't.

I guess you can either use the script mentioned above or just wait for the card to come in the mail.

Since I already have Sirius in my other vehicles.Which I feel is 100% better than XM any day! I called sirius and they are sending me a converter for $40 and a coupon for free installation to change my XM receiver to sirus.Like I said before since I already have 1 sirus radio my second will only cost $6 per month. So if you already have sirius you can look into that instead of paying for a full subscription to XM.

Well they called to ask if I wanted to pay to keep the service, but they were calling on the first base RDX we bought for my wife. I told them we did not have that one any more for it was traded for the one we bought for me.

My trial period was not up yet on mine but I asked about a $77 deal some friends (yawl) had been able to get. I was put on hold for a bit, then when she returned she said I could get it for the first year and it would not start until my trial had ended. This was a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for the posts.

I believe my $77 deal will expire soon (It's almost a year now) Anybody get it to roll again? I have the date in my calender to call before it expires, but I don't know how to get into the calender to check the date.

Is it $77 plus tax? Or total is 77?
Is it still valid?

I just called to cancel my service. Told them it was too expensive. They immediately offered me the $77/year rate for XM service plus an optional $24/year for nav traffic. I accepted both. $100/year isn't too bad.

$124/yr XM and Nav Traffic deal

My trial subscription was about to expire, so I called XM; I used the script from the thread, gave my radio code and signed up for $124/year for XM and traffic, no problem.

It's 77 plus your local tax - about $82 annual around here. Add the traffic and it should come to $107/yr for me, altho I haven't called them yet on the RDX. I've renewed 4x at that $77 rate, no problems.

Follow the threads, Luke!

Hi there -
I called to get the $77 and it would happen with no problem, but I said I thought there was a deal on the NAV, as johnny99 mentioned above. No go. It's $124 for XM + NAV (77 + 47).

I would love to save a few more dollars on this. Has anyone else gotten a deal on the XM NAV or is it always $3.99?

Thanks much!

$101 for XM + traffic

Maybe the CSR has some amount of discretion in the pricing. I told the guy that I wanted to cancel my subscription because it was too expensive and he offered me the half price ($77) deal. I then asked if the traffic was included in the $77 price and said he had to check with his manager. When he came back, he said the traffic was extra, but I could have that for half price, too. Total price was $77 + $24 = $101 for 1 year.

I did not mention any offers or deals or coupons. Maybe if you start going into that script, you get a packaged quote.

got it as well, very easy, I did not even bother with script, I was like "I want to renew at $77", CSR goes: "did u get promotion card with this deal?" I was like "yeah... whatever" so he gave it to me
the only thing I am cautions is paying ahead of time, if they go out of business you are screwed... pretty much what happened with Sun Rocket customers.

I got a card in the mail the other day 'reminding' me that my annual subscription would automatically renew at the end of the month. I paid full price for a year of service last November. This time, I called and told them I wanted to cancel 'unless they could give me that $77 deal that everyone else seems to be getting'. After a few transfers, I got to someone who agreed to give it to me, but noted on my account that it was because I was ready to cancel. She also made a point to tell me it was a one shot deal, and next year I would get renewed at full price.

Frankly, I really was ready to cancel - and the CS rep probed me as to why. I told her the truth - too much compression. The sound quality of 99% of the stations stinks. I can get much better quality sound from the local FM stations. I just can't see paying $12/mo for a bunch of crappy sounding stations, of which I actually listen to about 6. We'll see what happens next year....

I'm on hold right now and I'm being told the $77 is a one time deal. We will see if I succeed in getting it this year. I think I had a newbie so we will see what the "transfer" gets me.

I got a note in the mail that I'm up for automatic renewal and they would bill my CC...which is what prompted my call because I'm NOT paying $12.95 a month!! I'd rather cancel.

Okay...it ONLY took 25 minutes of holding for the "next" person. I told the new person I got that "it wasn't worth $12.95 a month since I just don't listen to it that much." She immediately said she could give me the same deal if I thought that price was worth it to me. I told her I was willing to pay that, but not twice the rate of $77.

As far as NavTraffic - apparently, I'm on a $11.97 per quarter rate...which is about $2.99/mo. She changed that so it renews yearly as well.

MY 3 month free trial is now over ( Nov. 30)and they have cut-off most of my stations(except info stations, emergency, etc). They have not contacted me at all to see if I want to keep this on. Does anyone know if this $ 77 deal is good in Canada?
Not sure if Canadians can susbcribe in the US or if we have to go through XM Canada.

Got the $77 deal and was told to call Customer Service to get the traffic deal. She could have given me $24 for six months, but that is no deal - still about $3.99 per month. And 11.97 per quarter is 3.99 per month, too, not 2.99 per month.

It's been fun shopping, but the next call I make I going to get traffic - even @ $3.99!

I didn't think I would use the listening online "freebie" they threw in, but I have enjoyed it. :-)

I talked them down to $77 + $ 24 = $101 for XM radio & nav traffic (half price on both).

I had asked the same question and no responses. My feeling is that you may not be able to get connected with the XM US unless there is a US address/credit card. Not sure how the signals get activated. In any event I have now subscribed here in Canada and they gave me a discount on the yearly cost of just under $ 30.Had to ask for it though.

I just called the number and it worked like a charm.
I said "My trial subscription is about to expire at the end of the month and I want to get the promotional offer at $77 a year." And no question asked, I got the deal with Navi $124.88.
Thanks for the tip!

I just renewed for the second full year at the $77 rate with no problems. I just said I received the "zwinback" promo again and want to renew at that rate, and she said OK. So you can renew more than once at that rate!

I have never used XM radio before and was wondering for those Canadian owners if it would make sense for me to register my XM at my US address in Florida (although I live in Toronto) so I could take advantage of this discount. Would there be any issue with it working in Toronto? Have to look into which is cheaper monthly and if there are more stations on either side of the border, but I would think that the US version would be cheaper and have more stations.

I just got a call in Canada. The "special deal" they offered me was 11.55/month (138/year) which isn't that great. I have two months left on the trial, so I told him I'd wait.

But XM is crappy to me. The music channels just don't have what I like and although I like talk radio, it's a lot of money to spend for relatively little listening.

I just called to reup. The lady said the 77 rate is a one time deal. I told her to cancel the subscription, she put me on hold and guess what? Your right. You have to play hardball with these people. I wonder if they outsource the calls, i could barely understand the lady.
So when will we be able to hear Howard Stern??? Whats with the merger?

With my three month trial period ending, I followed the script and receveid the $124.88 radio/traffic deal, a nice easy savings from the $190.33 the offer letter requested. Whole thing took about 2 minutes. Thanks to you all for the savings!

I called yesterday to cancel my current service (I have XM in my office) and they gave me the $77 deal and threw in the second radio for free. Since I took delivery of the car only this past Monday they also gave me my three free months so my year doesn't start until sometime in April. I should have thought to ask about the traffic while I had them on the phone.

Thanks for the help guys.

My subscription was about to run out next week (you don't need to wait till the trial ends). I got the deal for $77xm plus $47nav ($125 total) for the year. I just mentioned I got a card in the mail with an offer for 50% off and the phone lady went right for it.

Unfortunately my good friend who recently bought a Saturn didn't know about this and paid for a full year before I had a chance to tell him. But I figure that is karma for buying a Saturn anyway.

Hey you guys, if you want the Traffic and you have an iPhone, you can skip signing up for that one...google maps function on your iPhone gives you real-time traffic, pretty dang cool. Now with the Apple SW Update (1.1.3), it also serves as a de facto Nav by triangulating your cell signal and giving you direx from where you are.

I'm gonna grab the $77 deal. I like a couple of the xm music stations and the comedy is pretty good although it is not commercial free.
