Yokohama Parada Spec-X
I'm looking to get new tires for my wifes '07 RDX. She has 62000 on her factory Michelin's and needs new rubber before the snow comes. I've read great reviews on tirerack.com about the Yokohama Parada Spec-X. I was wondering if anyone on here has these tires and a review would be great if they did. Also what all season tires are comparable? I didn't care for the MXM's that came with the vehicle, and i'll be damned if i pay $250 a tire for them! Thanks for the help.

When I was shopping for a replacement tire for the Michelins, the tirerack rep recommended the Yoko V4S over the Parada Spec-X when evaluated on treadlife and light snow handling capability. The Spec-X is the sportier of the two tires.

On tirerack the winter ratings were better on the spec-x. They were both better rated than the michelins.

Hello to All,
Six weeks ago I purchased a set of Yokohama Parada Spec-X in stock size. 1000 miles later, I am pleased to report that the tires are superior in handling, ride, and noise to the Michelin's that came on the RDX. I have driven them in heavy rain at high speed with confidence. I have had no snow yet so I can't comment on winter traction.
I recommend these tires.

I have been looking into getting the Yoke Parada Spec-X's too. Right now, our RDX only has around 30,000 miles so I will be looking to get new tires after winter. Please let us know how the Spec-X's look on the RDX as well as how they handle.

I'm ready to order new tires and I have pretty much decided on the Paradas as well. I'll report back in a few weeks for initial impressions. FYI, my stock Michelins have lasted about 44k and I'd like to get new rubber before winter.

Well, I placed an order for the Paradas with Tire Rack this weekend. They called today and told me they are out of stock and may not have any more for 6-8 weeks.
If anybody has another source, please share. Thanks.

I just got mine delivered from Tire Rack last Tuesday and took them to be installed the same day on my 2007 RDX. I ordered them on 9/29/2009 and had to wait over a month because they were on national back order. I must say that I would highly recommend getting these tires. They change the way the car handles--It's like getting a new RDX!
Why, oh why weren't these installed on the car from the manufacturer!?!?!?

Well, I got the new tires put on and I have to say that so far (150 miles) I am slightly disappointed. I immediately noticed that the crispness of the handling is gone. The steering wheel also turns far more easily than before. Could all of this have something to do with the stiffer sidewalls of the OEM Michelins? I think so. Even going around corners, the RDX seems to lean a bit more than it used to.
I didn't really have any issues with the Michelins in the dry. It was the wet handling that was disappointing, if not downright dangerous. I haven't really pushed the Paradas yet since I'm still in break-in, but I sure hope their wet-weather performance makes up for my initial disappointment.

....really?
could it be that the balancing of the new tires is what you are feeling in the steering...whenever the tires get rebalanced the steering will free up a bit, for feel smoother w/less effort....
anyways...that doesnt sound like good news...did you change the tire profile at all or match it with stock?

I just recently replaced the OEM Michelins on my '08 RDX with a set of Yokohama Avid V4S's. I'm very pleased. These were rated higher than the OEM Michelins on Tirerack and were over $400 cheaper when I purchased them at a local Yokohama tire dealer. I'd recommend them, hands down. Drives the same, rides the same, handles the same wet or dry, etc. Supposedly will last as long or longer, we'll see, but they are great so far. Michelins are good tires but overpriced and sometimes overrated.

he suggests that compared to the Parada Spec X, which is a sport truck type of tire. This is what Town Fair tire told me, that the parada spec x is an aggressive looking tire for the sport truck scene, not necessarily a sport touring all season tire like the avid v4s or michelin. They also said that for handling the michelin and avid are both better than the parada spec x, plus they have a 50k warranty.

OH my GOd, these tires are great, Had couple days in the rain, and they gripped to the floor. Definitely great. Just got to wait for the snow to come, I think NyC/Boston area supposed to get snow here tonite,so that'll be an oppurtunity to test them out.
