Why wouldn't Acura have a lower trim level for RWD only?

If acura made a RWD RDX it would be cheaper and get better gas mileage (which is a big deal these days). It would also compete even better with the RWD X3.

Acura and trim level is like an oxymoron, they dont go together at all- and its already underpriced compared w/ a similarly equipped X3, and offering AWD std. is a big plus regardless- clearly the performance isnt gunna suffer, and yes fuel efficency is important- but if an RDX owner cared about fuel efficency theyd take a fully equipped, unleaded gas taking, 4 cylnder CRV or a Rav4..i just dont see the need for it

developing two drivetrains on an all new chasis is a huge investment.

It wouldn't be RWD because the drivetrain is transverse mounted. But the driving dynamics with FWD would make it less appealing to the target market. It's a trade-off.

if you want a base 2WD RDX, then it would be a FWD, NOT a RWD... We're talking about Honda/Acura here remember?
