When will the 2010 be announced?
Seeing as though we're near the MMC for the RDX, I'm anxious to hear about any changes. When does Acura normally announce? From what I've read here and elsewhere, these are some of the rumoured upgrades:
FWD version upgraded HDD navigation system with 8.0" WVGA screen USB port improved backup camera Hopefully it takes some queues from the MDX and also has push-button start and an improved cabin interior. |

I live in southbay near Honda headquarters and for a split second through my mirrors I thought I saw the 2010's driving around in the freeway. I was wrong.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_0qMCHd50dfw/Sf...1029342591.jpg It was a saturn vue. Oh man the resemblance if indeed they put out the "shield grill" http://lh5.ggpht.com/_0qMCHd50dfw/Sf...14735%20AM.JPG |
If Acura even goes ahead with the MMC, I'm wondering if they push it back to the fall. Honda seems to be extending all of the model lifecycles right now, even for models like the civic that are decent sellers.
Not sure how long it takes Honda to cancel a model, but the sales for the RDX are absolutely brutal. I can't imagine the MMC making much of a dent unless the FWD model gets significantly better MPG. |
i would have never bought the rdx if it only came in fwd.

was just at a dealership yesterday and confirmed with a sales rep when the 2010's are coming out and they said October. With regards to changes and make over they didnt say much as Acura HO was keeping mum about the details..
|
From TOV: Production starts July 1.
|
Was told by a GM of Acura that the changes are minor example the new plenum front less pronouced more like the one on the TSX a few minor cosmetics changes as seen in the spy shots.
Also with regard to the front wheel drive version this will happen according to him but wont be till next yr. |

If that July 1st date holds true...when do you expect we can see actual information released on it? |
sometime september...things id bet that it will 100% have - usb/aux center console plug, auto ON/off lights, new color scheme or dash appearance (typical of honda/acura refreshes - not in design, but the look), maybe a 6-way power pass seat?
highly doubt the car will get any new options, upgrades, etc. We know what the exterior will look like, there are pics all over the place. A rear HVAC would be wishful thinking but something I would love, also, as in the last years of the 3G TL, possibly the ELS being offered without the tech pkg.... |

you would think, every car wearing the Acura name should have them, TSX included.
|
"At this time, no official information has been released to our department regarding the 2010 Acura RDX. However, I was able to locate a tentative release of mid July 2009. I anticipate product information will become available soon.We recommend checking the Acura.com website regularly for updates."
OK that is a direct quote...Got this directly via email from Acura today after I emailed them last week. Hopefully when he says information will be available soon, that means EARLY JUNE and we see them in dealerships by MID JULY! |
that doesnt really do, say, or explain anything...ull probably be able to realistically buy a 2010 in September
|
I thought the Mid-July reference meant they would be in show rooms to BUY at that point.
I've emailed Acura back so they can clarify what they meant by that statement. I agree too that it was somewhat vague! |
the sales guy probably knows less than you do at this point
|
"The 2010 RDX is tentatively scheduled to be released for purchase Mid-July. This means a dealership should have the vehicles available for your inspection at that time."
Just got this back from Acura today to confirm...Lets hope it is TRUE! Mike this wasn't from my local Acura dealership...these emails having been coming from Acura.com...I emailed them directly. |
sounds good

Personally, just purchased a 2009 RDX Tech and I think it's pretty perfect. Considering the big change from 2008 to 2009 was a mechanized passenger seat I would not expect much for the 2010. Besides I just drove a rental nissan with the push button start and it felt cheap and you could not warm up the car without being 20ft from it and that was not worth not sticking a key in and turning to me
|
The pushbutton start isn't a remote starter, it just means you don't need any keys - just have the smart key in your pocket.

2010----Possible Updated 40gb HD Navigation system with better screen resolution....Possible USB iPod connection which would POWER and play the iPod through the stereo without any extra stuff needed. Those two things for me are huge, especially if the MSRP and INVOICE doesn't change for the TECH model. Throw in what might be a power rear gate, auto headlights, windows that roll down using the Key Fob...Also big sellers in my book! If those things DON'T happen...then I agree the 09 is just as good, and maybe even better looking than the 10 from the outside. |

I want some led tail lights that can be retrofit.
|
See to me the LED Tail lights are something that is all looks and little function.
I'd rather them put new stuff in/on the car that actually makes a difference. |

So if that is true.....when does the SH-AWD production start? Or...have they already started the SH-AWD production..will the SH-AWD version be avalible for sale on July 15th? Still a lot of questions remain about this..I wish Acura would throw us all a bone and spill some beans like they did about the V6 TSX!!!! |
Found this information in the Problems and Fixes..
What is interesting is this HDS software is for the 2010 RDX!! If that is true, and dealers got this software during the week of May 11th, I am feeling more confident that during the next two weeks we are going to be hearing more about the Real 2010 RDX! New HDS Software Release: Version 2.018.007 Currently Applies To: General Information During the week of May 11, every Acura dealer was shipped a new HDS software release on CD. This CD has a newly designed label (black lettering on a white background) that reads HDS VER 2.018.007, and it’s dated May 2009. Your system administrator should have this software already loaded onto the master server. Here’s the lowdown on 2.018.007: • It provides system coverage for the ’10 RDX, RL, and TSX. |
I still think a realistic buy date for the 2010 RDX will be 1st week of Sept...also
uhhh anyone think its a little F'd up that a TSX V6 w/nav costs 38,500. thats laughable, sorry. With no improvement to the chassis, performance enhancements, or body cladding, that is just awful. Only in America, repackage it, and rip off everyone stupid enough to buy it. Acura is officially leaving the "entry level" of luxury. Buy them cheap while you can. |
I hope you are wrong with the Sept prediction! (I don't want to wait that long!)
Also the V6 TSX pricing is a joke. The whole point of the TSX is to get YOUNG people driving Acuras and then have them become Acura Drivers for life. The new $38000 sticker on the V6 with Navi is not going to get YOUNG people to buy it because they CANNOT AFFORD IT. Here is what the new pricing SHOULD be for the TSX. 2010 TSX Pricing according to ME 2010 TSX (2.4L 5AT/6MT) - $28750 2010 TSX Tech (2.4L 5AT/6MT) - $30,999 2010 TSX V6 (3.5L 5AT) - $33000 2010 TSX V6 Tech (3.5L 5AT) - $34999 If the pricing was set this way they would STILL make money on this car and probably sell a lot more of them, and they would really win their target audience of 22-35 year old professionals because at these prices I'm suggesting NO BMW, BENZ, INFINITI ect can match the price vs what you get factor that the TSX would bring to the table! |
Well, they probably figure that the base 4-cylinder is the model for young folks aspiring to own an Acura, which still starts under $30K. They may be trying to separate the V6 a bit so that they can, eventually, justify obvious price steps up to the TL and eventually a more worthwhile RL.
FWIW, I agree with you that the TSX should stay priced quite a bit lower. But then again it was the Integra that brought me to Acura and I thought it was a mistake to get rid of it (and then to drop the RSX completely). Their product strategy is puzzling. They claimed they dropped the lower-end cars in an effort to move upmarket, but then they haven't offered anything at the high end to motivate an improvement in Acura's image. So now they've squeezed all their product offerings into a narrow $30K-$50K price point, with mixed messages regarding differentiation between them, let alone the competition. Acura needs to get a full-line vision and fast (and I don't mean even more in-your-face styling). They need corporate leadership to lay out a clear and consistent message that resonates both within the corporation and with the buying public. |
I agree with you. Even my girlfriend doesn't Acura on the same level as BMW or Benz. Even if option for option they are the same and performance wise they are the same. To her the BMW and Benz have a higher "quality".
The problem with the $38000 V6TSX is that my 07TL with Navi cost $37000... Just by making the NEW TL more $$$$$$$$$ doesn't mean that it is better! I hope the 2010 RDX doesn't do this crap...if it does I'll work the best deal I can on an 09! |
im not sure what i was reading or thinking when i saw JULY, in my head somehow i thought July was August lol....so i guess an august buy date is more realistic hahah

Don't worry the 2010 will be out just AFTER the $2500 cash to dealer incentive is gone...and probably AFTER the 3.9% financing is gone too. Thus CRUSHING any hope I have of getting the 2010 and keeping my payment reasonable. But I just cannot fathom buying an 09 right now knowing a NEW model is coming out in 2 months. Plus my dealer is not BUDGING below 33000 for a new tech. And that is even with the 2500 incentive! |
A poster on TOV is claiming 100% confirmed fact to these 2010 updates.
-New front and rear bumper -New Grill (five point plenum) -USB connection cable -Revised Wheels -standard rear view camera on base model (image in rear view mirror, similar style to 09 Pilot EX-L model) What is interesting is there is no NAVI update mentioned. We'll see! |
we have the mirror backup camera in our odyssey and it's surprisingly good.
out of curiosity, no offense meant, but what do you guys think you really gain with hard drive nav? I've used it in the Q5's and don't really see a direct, functional, usable benefit to it. if it's just in the name of technological advancement, fine, but end of the line use to the driver really doesn't change from what I've seen. hard drive music storage I would surely like, but if the mapping is on a dvd or hd, makes no difference in daily use as far as I can tell.... now if they had real time mapping updates, that would be wonderful. i.e. no need to get a new dvd or software update via manual download to a hd.... so what is the fascination? |

Plus my dealer is not BUDGING below 33000 for a new tech. And that is even with the 2500 incentive! problem is is that since Acura slashed production on basically all models, and are producing in line with sales & the economy, its sort of stabilizing the pricing a bit, dealers dont have the mass stock when this all started when they needed to shovel cars off the lot. Supply & demand. Given that 2010 seems to be the year Acura has basically said "F YOU" with their pricing...id go for the best deal you can find on a 2009 RDX, regardless of the changes due (and yes, the poster from TOV is just confirming what we have already known - google the 2010 RDX and you will see the pics etc) take advantage of any 2009 you can find, while you can actually find them; the 10 will cost you more, no matter how you look at it |
Mike I agree.
I'm trying to get the dealer down into the 32500 area for a new 09 tech. The most I am thinking about it the more the 09 appeals to me over the 10 for these reasons. 1. Like that user posted the HDD Navi vs the DVD based Navi really makes no difference. 2. USB would be nice, but with the belkin adapter I have now the aux in will work just like my 07TL does and that sounds good enough to me. 3. PRICE. I don't see the 10 being had any less than 35000 based on two factors. 1. Acura saying "f-you" with the other 2010s we are seeing, and 2. the fact that it would be hot on the market with no $2500 incentive! 4. The new nose really doesn't do it for me on the TL and TSX, so what makes me thing I'll LOVE it on the RDX. I actually DO like the 09 nose and think it looks cool. 5. I actually like the tail pipes standing out more in the 09 than in that 10 picture we see...thats just me though. SO...at $32500 plus tax, title, tags...would you say DEAL or NO DEAL! |
good luck with it...just make sure wherever you are buying has a decent stock or can find one, because if stock is lean, your deal is shaky if they got 1, or 2 on the lot that they dont necessarily have to dump
the one thing about the nav unit - its not the HD that would get me, they re-did the display and its redic better than the one it replaces |
I was able to get my 09 Tech for $32,500 pretty easily. Of course that wasn't their first offer, but you have to be prepared to negotiate.
By the time I started talking numbers with my local dealer, I already had my financing done with my credit union (check in hand), and I had emailed practically every single Acura dealer in Texas requesting their best price Out the Door quote on an 09 RDX Tech. I was actually surprised at how easy it was to get the price I wanted. :) |
